I took a long time to finish my wiring, then went to a different PC (this one is in Roseville). Played on the rock pile just long enough to use my rear diff lock and see that it helps when all the rear axle weight is on one tire. I didn't want to stay long enough for the cops to be called.

I've ordered the switch to fit the hole next to my center diff lock button, but it won't be in for a couple weeks, so the one that came from Eaton will have to do for now. IMG_1436.jpg 70157102269__21358262-29DE-4A7E-B03C-D5C7CA8A425F.jpg

Awesome bro! Eaton rear locker? I may go this route in the future.

Anyone know what this noise could be coming from? It happens when the truck is idling. I recorded it under the front passenger wheel well. That's where the it sounds like it's coming from. I haven't had a chance to dig around yet but any pointers would be appreciated.

Sounds like something vibrating at a certain rpm frequency. My stock skid was doing that for awhile. I could tab the skid with my hand and it would make the same rattle sound.

Just bought a place in GB. Probably won't be moving up for a year and a half - it needs some renovations, and we're hoping to let our junior finish out her high school career (about 150 miles away) without moving.
But we were up this weekend - the taco did a great job hauling a queen bed over from Napa. Did an admirable (though slow) job over 128 and 12. Nice drive.
I didn't get any photos this weekend, but here's one from last month:

Hope the PC meetup was a good time. Maybe another time I'll be able to crawl into one.

    (Warning: not my dog.)

Did some digging around. This thing is rattling at certain frequencies. Not sure why, all the bolts are tightened down.

There's probably a small rock or other debris between the shield and your cat.

If shields or skids are too close to other exhaust piping, it creates this noise. I suggest remove it and put a washer as a spacer to move it farther from exhaust piece.

Hey there everyone! my name's Joe, I bought my 22 DCLB TRDOR last year so I'd have a way to reach more spots for camping without worrying as much about getting stuck.

I've caught the offroad bug, but I really have barely any idea what I'm doing. Been watching a lot of youtube, but that only takes you so far.

Do any of y'all get together to do trails in small groups? I've managed to get myself nearly stuck in mud or snow a few times this year, and it's made me realize that experimenting alone might not be the best idea haha. If any groups are making plans to do some beginner-friendly trails in the area, I'd be super interested in tagging along to watch and learn! Also, to have someone with experience around for those "do you think I can make it over those rocks" questions.

WELCOME. People go out all the time. There are couple other threads you might want to check out. You can start with Prairie city out in Folsom. It’s a 4x4 park from mild to extreme.
