got so much closer tonight. its a tight ass fit right now. will eventually need to relocate the brake proportioning valve and definitely moving the fuel filter location. mounts were a little off at first so it took some massaging the get the diff off of the subframe.

dropped some coin last night to start getting the last parts in that i need. added up a lot more than i thought. just need to figure out if i want to order the thermal r&d 3 inch cat back or get something custom made

other than having the option to run whatever muffler i want itd be more work and probably cost the same. i keep forgetting kteller had the kits out there though

 

pulled the trigger on the thermal. looks good on the da and i know itll line up. got a 3inch vibrant vband and 2.5->3 transition as well. the transition will go on the header so i can use the vband at that connection.

 

If I still had a DA and was in your shoes I'd probable go the KTeller route and fab up a twin tip like factory or the old HKS Sport exhaust.

I've run the HKS sport, Greddy sport, HKS Hi-Power, and RS-R. Going with a Mugen twin loop this time around on my DC project.
I think Hitech makes a twin loop up to 2.75".

But, yeah that Thermal should be no headaches, it's been around forever.

mugen is a nice exhaust! although they are getting pretty old now. hopefully you find one in shape if you dont already have it. do you have a build thread on the dc?

 

Nah, no thread. I might start one.

You can actually still get new twin loops, however I'm up next supposedly with HMotors for a used one.

 

no major updates yet. car is really close. just need to do coolant, mtf, clutch for fluids. tighten the traction bar down, replace trailing arm bushings, and wait for the catback to arrive. also grab a tune for the ecu since im using rdx injectors.

just painted the new calipers today to seal against rust

 

plan for the long weekend:
install new rear calipers/rotors
replace driver rear trailing arm bushing, camber arm, toe arm
bleed brakes and clutch
wire fans
torque axle nuts

what will be left:
plug in ecu
thermal exhaust (still waiting on shipment)
bleed coolant
alignment

then the car should be in a running/driving state

 

When will it be in a racing state?
