i debated about not. free trailer use from work made me think about it. i began to wonder if i would have enough room in my car also. tires and a jack would take up a lot of space.

plan to get video going tomorrow but damn was that fun at Heartland Park! car ran wonderfully with zero issues. i thought i would have burned more oil than i did so i was pleasantly surprised. I had the opportunity to pass people and I was chasing down a new mustang until I got stuck behind traffic.

Downloaded the trackaddict app for lap timing/recording which is a cool app if anyone is looking.

Got a ride along in my instructors porsche 944 time trials car, that thing was quuuuick! 20psi of boost made that thing just haul.

I significantly increased my skills over the weekend and was mostly driving on my own sunday. Started the day with a 1:35 lap time and was down to 1:28 in my last session. There was room for improvement in braking zones (could have gotten on them later). 3/4th gear were all I used this weekend, it was the perfect ratio. Peaked 4th gear cresting the hill at the end of the straight with a max of 110mph. I could also catch some vettes in the last corners before the straight (slow technical corners). Great time overall. It was awesome feeling the car react to inputs. Trail braking causing it to rotate, throttle letting the car pull itself through the corner.

Lots of corvettes (all C7s), Porsches, 2 Lotus, Audi R8, miatas.

Its also cool to take the car from driving at the limit to getting groceries in the evening

sounds like you had a blast! good to hear that your car didn't burn as much oil as expected. it's been a long time since i did a track run. Last time was 2001..lol I remember the whole braking situation. I was braking like a wuss and the instructor was like, dude you have to really BRAKE. It was such a fun experience learning and feeling the car out especially just having put in a LSD in the transmission.

a lsd would significantly help me pull through corners. i was braking hard, but the more i got on them the more i could see i had a lot more room. the part that seemed the hardest for me at first was the hard braking zones with a downshift. missed the gas pedal a couple of times with the rev match.

Hope to make it out in the future again, but i dont see this becoming a full time hobby. its a bit expensive for that. If money and time were no object though :burnrubber:

Video from my last session of the weekend. Short course setup for this day which cut out a few corners but made another high speed straight.

ill have to figure out something for wind noise next time with the gopro

i think its more of an impulse want, lol. the more i think about it if im putting a LS in one the m3 doesnt offer a whole lot (better brakes which should be an easy fix, slightly better diff, and stiffer chassis with extra welds which i can fix)

Save the money you would spend on a chassis and Ls swap, Purchase a Full race EFR kit + PPG straight cut gears and smoke domestics all day.

i dont need to buy a chassis. i have a 92 325i that i plan to use. i have been wanting a v8 too so for the price point i could have a fun vehicle still and n/a reliability.

youre suggesting turbo the integra i take it? not saying it wouldnt be fun and it was my original goal. after having the car running smoothly, its hard to want to throw a turbo in the mix. extra maintenance and issues come with that.

I've done a mod or two
I think the issue would be keeping a front-wheel drive light vehicle like the Integra planted with extra power. Front wheel drive with turbo the weight transfer is poor so it's just going to want to spin the front tires out.

the power it has now is about perfect imo from what i experienced at the track. LSD would help wheel spin out of the corner and then maybe it could use ~300 but thats not worth the expense of a turbo at that point.

granted all the fast fwd time attack cars are using turbos with more than 500hp.

pulled the 4pt roll bar yesterday after work and then proceeded to install the rear panels back into the car tonight.

like i thought im going to have to drill through the armrest area of the side panel for the rear support bar to go through.

i think this will give the car a much cleaner look and quieter on the road. If i still have it next year and continue taking it to the track i dont imagine the 30lbs (total guess) of rear interior to be much a hindrance.
