So far, not as good as I had hoped. As of just a moment ago, now have 67 applications submitted. 2 weeks back I received an automated email on one position that told me I had been selected to move ahead to a phone screen, for last week, but they haven't contacted me yet, so I don't expect anything from them.

On a positive note - I have been able to get our mortgage, car loan, credit card and RV trailer loan people to approve hardship payment deferrals for at least a couple months, so the State unemployment money will be enough to get us through for the next couple months (food, electricity, water, internet, mobile phone, auto insurance,.....). So we are not in immediate jeopardy of losing our house, at least. Mortgage company told me that as long as I can start making payments again within 6 months, they will set up an informal repayment plan for us. If it goes longer than 6 months, then we would end up in a formal, contractual situation to avoid foreclosure. I didn't have any of these deferral options in the 2010-2012 time frame when i was unemployed twice. Ended up having to file for bankruptcy t keep from losing everything back then. No body would work with you..... "Sucks to be unemployed... pay up or we'll sue".

Yeah, It's tough out there. Thanks to Bidenomics. I'm a Construction Superintendent and the company I worked for cut back Three superintendents. I was one. I'm Lucky..most of my stuff is paid off. I have been talking to recruiters and there are a lot of people in my field looking as well. Interest rates have put a lot of projects on hold. And this is nationwide. I'm afraid it's going to get worse before it gets better. Good Luck to you Tom. I'll hold you up in Prayer brother.

Thank you, Sir, I really appreciate all the support from TW members.

I agree most of the current mess is based on the political situation, and with the elections next year, I think that uncertainty is going to cause a lot more instability in the employment sector, as well as most everything else.

I will certainly send some good thoughts and prayers you way as well! :fistbump:

/edit: I see you're in Sacto. My wife and I were in Placerville for the last 30+ years. We finally had enough of the political silliness in CA and moved to Kentucky last year. So much saner here :)

Well Only because I have to be. My Dad passed away a while back and I, 'm an only child. Mom is 84 and she doesn't want to move. And it would not be fair for the rest of the family for me to just leave and let them deal with their aunt. But yeah I'm looking in that part of the country as well. Traveled all over the USA for work and really felt at home in the South and Midwest. My fiance lives in Indiana, She was born in rural Kentucky. I may have been born in California but it's not the state I grew up in.
