    Hi everyone,
    So moms doing ok!
She’s a tough old gal and stubborn as hell. Seems she’s not as helpless as she had dad thinking.
She got like 2 feet of snow recently, I’d go to take care of paths the roof and around the foundation but she would not wait.
All but the roof were done before I got there.
She’s talking about it being her last winter there but that’s not now.
She’s worked and shoveled all week! She’s proud of what she’s done and should be!
I spent 3 hrs on dads tractor today cleaning up before tonight’s crappy weather.
Gotta say dad was well liked the owener if spaffords left me a key to his diesel tank with note use as needed!
She is still sad and misses dad and so do I.
Can’t say enough about their neighbors at Spaffords the owener and his wife are just good people.
Between them and TW and Daiane at the social security office the person from GE for pension ins etc,
Eric at coburn funerals was very helpful and was amazing with my mom.
Pretty overwhelmed with the sincere people I’ve met and support/help I’ve gotten.
    Sorry
Long post I wanna say I won’t be posting much more but I don’t look forward to Xmas this year.

    Thank you
    Thank you
    Thank you!!!!

    Jeff

+1 to that and it sounds like mom is coming out of her funk. Just be there for each other around Christmas, it could be a rough time. Get her past that and I think she'll be OK.

It’s hard but you’ve been amazing!
Kinda makes me search my soul and be a better person. I was kinda down on things before all this but.
I find myself being a better person.
    Thank you

I'm new to TW and thankful to find this forum.

Jeff, you, your mom, and all who care about you are in my prayers today. Christmas is a time to remember: remember the Child who was born that day, remember those we love, those we lost, and in that bittersweet remembering live more fully today.

Peace and all good in this season.

    Just a quick update,
    Moms doing really well!
I’m doing better also seeing her doing better!
The lack of snow has been nice.
I was pricing plows for my Tacoma, the tractor works good but after blowing mine then 50 miles there in the am just having a plow would be easier on me.
    She’s tougher than I am.
Christmas is gonna be tough not the same without him.
We have presents for him not sure what to do with them other than donate them.
I miss him alot love you dad!
After all the support from you all here at TW I’m not just gonna leave.
    I owe everyone of you.
    Thank you
    Jeff

Hang in there Jeff, it does get better. Time heals all wounds, but there will be scars. That’s life.

    Very true!
I thought it wasn’t gonna be so tough! I can accept the old man he had his way!
Seeing the survivors is hard as heck.
My moms sorrows broke my heart and his grandkids/great grandkids sorrows broke the pieces left.
I’m so glad for the support of the people i knew would be there for help.

    Jeff,
I just saw this thread for the first time and it brought back memories of my own parents. My mother passed away from breast cancer in 2006 and my father from lung cancer in 2008, after they both fought long battles. The toughest part after their passing was all the firsts like special holiday times and birthdays. It does get easier as the years pass, but there will always be an empty spot when the family gets together. From everything that you have expressed on this thread, it shows how great of a father you had and if he was still alive, he would want you to enjoy this Christmas without him and appreciate the time you do have with family, as we never know what the future holds, with life being fragile. ~ Merry Christmas and happy new year, Mark

    Hey everyone,
Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas.
It wasn’t as bad for us as I’d thought but just not the same without him.
    Moms holding strong doing ok.
    Thanks again!

    Have a safe new year!
