You can run ECT on all the time with no adverse effects to the vehicle. There are lots of fellas using the ECT always on mod, myself included. It can still be turned off. The always on mod just defaults to on at start up.

Thanks, everyone - especially TacoMike. I'm so mad because I just typed up a long response and it didn't go through - argh!

I would like to install the ECT PWR always on mod. Found an updated version manufactured by a gentleman in California. I know you experienced owners may laugh, but I'm scared to death of this install. He has a great video on YouTube, but what scares me the most is dismantling the dash. My 2020 is only a month old and my baby and I would hate to break anything. I've seen a few videos and they all make dismantling the dash look easy so maybe I'm being too paranoid. Can anyone give me some advice, pointers, etc.

Also, I've noticed with any mods requiring a fuse tap that the original fuse box cover no longer fits. I found an extended height cover from MESO customs - just type into Google but they say "limited run" and I cannot purchase one - don't know if they will ever be made again. Does anyone have any suggestions - another supplier, etc?

    Thanks, everyone - much appreciated!

Why mess with the mod? Just remember to do the "Taco Two Step Start"... 1. Push the Start button. 2. Push the ECT button. Then try to decide whether to use Drive, Sequential or Reverse. Easy peasy.

True - I keep going back and forth - I guess I'm just afraid of wearing out the switch is that makes any sense....probably way over thinking the whole thing!

You won't wear out the switch. Only thing you can do is hit it and break it, but it just requires a light touch to activate.

Just push the button. Now about that pesky light to get off the dash. Lol

Most I'll keep just to let me know "yes, this working/enganged" but I did put black tape over the chrome glove box lock:anonymous:

Nothing like a bunch of men talking about the many uses of duct tape. Now that’s American!!!
