I came across this article and my first thought was to get out to all the community to share this LUCKY mans story. Choices are made at times that are not good and things unforeseen can happen, take a step back and reflect (WHAT WOULD YOU HAVE DONE) This man heard some advice and was so focused lost site of safety first!

I don't do much snow driving but I have yet to see a snow covered switch back that wasn't off camber due to the angle of the snow melting. If you try to cross a thick enough snow covered switch back it'll put you off camber tilting towards the cliff, combine that with 0 lateral traction due to the snow is a recipe for disaster. The several times I've run into snow covered switch backs I always turn around and find a different way, too much risk without chains IMO.
