I have a Gillette safety razor that I inherited from my father. I forget the model name but I did looked it up and it's from the late 40s to mid 50s. It's heavy as hell but the blades are cheap, I bought a box of 100 off of Amazon, they're made in Egypt, and are sharp as hell. Like the Mouse said you have to go slow with these types of razors but they do offer a good shave for a good price.

+1 safety razor is superior to all others in every way. So many years messing around with overpriced disposables and electric shavers. Tried a straight edge too, was nice until it lost it's edge and I don't have the talent to keep those sharp. Safety razor gives a great shave, no ingrown hairs, and no irritation if you have a light touch. My bathroom mirror is so old it has the slot for dropping the used blades so that's nice too :)
