http://www.ebay.com/itm/100-Gillett...063500?hash=item2a761a548c:g:2KsAAOSwImRYUKaEI picked up this safety razor after having sticker shock over the price of most disposable types like MACH3 (favorite) and others, and come to find out that these work very well and are really less costly then using the high priced multi-blade ones they lock up in a vault at the Store. I have never used a Safety razor before but investigated them on YOUTUBE and decided to give it a try for $19.99 with 100 free Gillette replacement blades. It arrived very quickly and used it today I didn't use any of the Foo Foo Soaps,beard oils,Soap brushes just used Gillette Fusion Pro Glide Gel which I had on hand, in fact any type of bottled Cream/Gel would work no need for all the fancy accessories if you ask me,but if you are into those go for it. A couple things Ive learned since using it once is not to apply any pressure like u would using a MACH3 or other just let the weight of the razor glide on your skin, do not press down or u will get razor burn. Also make one pass with the cream, you really don't want to make multiple passes without having more cream but u can but be very carefull this could irritate the skin. By doing the 1 pass shave is definetly good enough with these razors. The thing is pretty cool and Im glad I tried it, you can easily use this on a daily basis but you cannot rush it like a disposable razor, also you cannot cut off your ears or nose but you can get razor burned if you don't take it a little slower than normal. If your tired of breaking the bank for a shave I would say try it,there are plenty of How-To Videos on YOUTUBE, as I said before you wont need all the Foo Foo accessories at all.

I have a Gillette safety razor that I inherited from my father. I forget the model name but I did looked it up and it's from the late 40s to mid 50s. It's heavy as hell but the blades are cheap, I bought a box of 100 off of Amazon, they're made in Egypt, and are sharp as hell. Like the Mouse said you have to go slow with these types of razors but they do offer a good shave for a good price.

+1 safety razor is superior to all others in every way. So many years messing around with overpriced disposables and electric shavers. Tried a straight edge too, was nice until it lost it's edge and I don't have the talent to keep those sharp. Safety razor gives a great shave, no ingrown hairs, and no irritation if you have a light touch. My bathroom mirror is so old it has the slot for dropping the used blades so that's nice too
