I sort have done this already by installing Helwigs to stiffen my stock springs. Even if they break, with four more U bolts the pieces are not going anywhere.

Breaking leaf springs is not new, I used to see it all the time on old farm trucks. Nobody recalled them though.

Maybe isolated cases? Unless it's a TSB or actual recall I wouldn't jump the gun just yet. But hey I could be wrong. There's countless threads about the drive line vibrations, brakes shuddering around 40-55 mph, front windsheild seals letting air in, etc... but yet no TSB or recall. Makes you wonder what's the thresh hold for Toyota before they make a TSB or recall that actually fixes the issues.

So the combination is 1,2,3,4,5 ... That's the stupidest combination I've ever heard in my life! That's the kind of thing an idiot would have on his luggage.

They're replacing the Ruby Diner with Off the Hook restaurant, basically another restaurant with a bar, oyster bar, outdoor patio and entertainment.

Seriously though, snapping leaf springs aren't that uncommon. With the stresses some of us subject those things to I'm surprised it doesn't happen more often. I went through two sets on a Chevy Colorado used for off-road patrol. I'll see how long the stock set on my new truck lasts.
