My leaf springs are being replaced this morning at my local dealer as part of the recall. I had a progressive AAL in my old 2+1 leaf pack. The Service Manager just called me and told me that Toyota's "corporate policy" dictates that they ONLY replace the parts to bring the vehicle to stock form, so they cannot put my AAL into the new leaf pack. He is going to have the tech provide me with all of the AAL parts in a box.

Mine felt off after, but I'm not sure how replacing the rear leafs would affect the alignment.

I am not sure either. I just had mine done and it is now off. Finally have time tomorrow to take it back in.

I did call to tell them about it. They said bring it in and they will check it. He also said an alignment is not included by Toyota. I just got new tires and an alignment. It should be up to them to fix this.

Toe bro, rr toe is affected by replacing leafs. With the center pins it can only be off a little but that's all it takes. I saw how much mine is off when I got new tires and they did alignment. Axle needs a tweak to get it right. positive on one side, negative on the other. I also have changed steering wheel to 2013 and needs to be straightened and will be putting on my LR UCAs and all of this will be addressed by next alignment.

    Same as everybody else...
I just had mine swapped out yesterday but I dropped the truck off so I can't tell ya for sure how long it took. I have heard anywhere from 2_4 hours to do the job but who knows. I dropped it off at 7am and they called at 11 and told me it was done.

Can you tell the rear toe is out by the machine the dealer uses for alignments? I am assuming yes?

Yeah, all the alignments I have gotten printout from show rr toe......and camber too IIRC.

Oh, you said dealership......Imuna go with SHOULD. Dunno why their machine would be any different in that respect. Ask them if it does and ask for the printout from alignment so you can see before/after settings.

mine kinda migrates to the left barely after last alignment and after seeing the positive toe on passenger side and too much negative on driver side, that tells me my rr axle is askew to the right making it want to drift left when moving. I want them to loosen u bolts, pull back on driver side and push forward on passenger side and clamp it back down and see if it'll line up better.

Just got back from the dealer. Here is my alignment readings. They said Toyota does not include the alignment with new springs and my alignment is now mest up from getting new springs.

The dealer said call Toyota and complain. If they get enough complaints they might start including it.

Alignment was perfect when I pulled up and shit when I pull out and nobody wants to fix it. Uggh...

I usually just buy a 3 yr alignment from a shop near me for $140. Need to get another one for my truck, old one expired. When I do have a current one, I take it in every 6 - 8 months and have them do it even if all I have done is drive. Front toe is usually only thing that changes.

Those of you getting your trucks inspected before replacement, is that because you didn't get the letter they're needed yet? Or is that just the process your dealer is putting you through?

Unsure, but in my situation I did not receive the remedy letter, and I had to go through their inspection before they ordered the parts. Not sure if it's necessarily related to the recall not being in SC yet, but it may be

When I had my rear leafs replaced under TSB 0359-10 (Rear Spring Harsh Ride) an alignment was called for in the order, I also received new shocks all the way around, I am thinking of not having this recall done for this reason. Toyota wants to do this on the Cheap!!! jmop

I've received all the letters. This is just the routine they are putting us through. The inspection took all of 10 minutes. I imagine they are looking for suspension mods, previous spring replacement, or whatever. If you have the cheapo stock 3 leaf/ 3 clip system, it's new springs.

Yeah. I figured it might be some dealers process. No inspection or questions asked about mine. Just called, said I got the letter and they scheduled me for replacement.
