I received my letter yesterday, and just called the dealership. They said they would forward my request to the recall specialist and they will contact me within 24 hours.
I have the 2+1? On my truck. I think it sits a little lower than it did when it was new, I am hoping to get a little height back.
Will they replace with the same kind of will I have a 3 or 4 pack spring?

Dealership is saying that the springs are 2-4 weeks out, fit kit came in right away

I have the TSB springs with ride-rite bags. Are dealers working around the bags or making you take them off?

Before they do anything they will inspect your springs to see if you actually need the recall done. It's based on how many leaves and clips you have in the leaf pack. Some folks have brought their trucks in for inspection with modified leaf springs and have been denied due to being modded, so I suggest you remove the airbags before going in for inspection.

Anyone have an update on when the southern states will start getting the remedy? I think the last schedule I saw said late April.

I have 2005 Prerunner with Ride Rite Airbags and Daystar cradles. The spring packs on it are original 3 leaf 3 clip and are covered by the recall. Removing the airbags ahead of time just to "be safe" before taking it to Toyota would be a lot of work, and hopefully unnecessary.

Is there anyone who has actually had the recall done successfully that has airbags & cradles?

    Thanks!

Just had mine done two Fridays ago and I have airbags, made the appointment and told them I have airbags, They checked it out and said it wouldn't be a problem. Dropped the truck off and the only issue was instead of taking the 1 1/2 hrs to do the work it took them around 4 hours.

Ok guys wanted to tell you about my dealer, yesterday I called Toyota of Rock Hill in Rock Hill Sc.and ask if they have received the leaf springs for the recall.{corporate web site said that the remedy was available} I was told by their service writer that they not received them and when they do get them,it would be first come first serve and when they depleted that supply then that would be it.I did not buy that, it is a safety recall. So I called another dealer an hour away and was told something different ,they were willing to take my name down and call me when they came in, which I am fine with that. I decided to call Corporate and let them know what the first dealer told me, he put me hold and contacted the first dealer and then we were put on a conference call and we resolved the problem.I am on a waiting list. Sad that I had to get the main office involved. Just my experience

That's the craziest thing I've heard so far! What was their excuse for passing on that bit of bullshit when you were on the conference call?

No shit! The different tales from dealers all around the country on this circus of a recall are amazing. Despite what Corporate tells us, your going to get a different crackerjack story wherever you go. It's like the recall Toyota never wishes they initiated in the first place, and they want you to go away.

Just relaying the story I felt that ever since day one I've gotten the run-around from that particular dealership. I asked the guy if they did not get reimbursed by Toyota he said eventually they would. It's like they don't want to do it so they're coming up with different excuses to discourage people bringing in their Tacoma.
