Yes actually I did charge them but they couldn't afford my hourly rate so we haggled a little bit and after a lot of foot stomping and bickering on their part we finally agreed to call it even with me driving out with a 2016.... Can't wait til 2024 for a leaf spring recall on this one. Iwonder what the 2024 will look like.

My local dealership returned my phone call today. Will be doing my leaf springs on Thursday. Replacing my 2+1 with the 3+1, no questions asked, and they have them in stock. Said about 2 1/2 hours.

Tennessee is phase 5. I was thinking phase 11 and 12 when I asked the question. It seems like they are at least a month behind the schedule that I saw on TW.

So Toyota is not aligning the vehicles after replacement of the rear leaf springs? It seems to me that replacing the rear leaf springs will change the thrust angle, and while it shouldn't cause any tire wear problems (unless it is drastic), it will cause the steering wheel to be off center when going straight.

Had my leafs replaced yesterday 2010 DC. Upstate NY. When I called they had my info in the computer and said they had them in stock and set it up a couple days later. I asked about them doing an alignment afterward and the guy just kinda said we don't do them. They wanted $149 for an alignment. So Im going elsewhere for the alignment. So I look at it this way: for $65 bucks I got an alignment and new leafs not a bad deal.

I got my letter stating that the springs installed during my frame recall were the springs for this recall.

Just dropped the truck off. Asked them to throw the AAL in the bed when they take it out but we'll see if they do.

I did the same. I gave them a parts list of everything I expected to get back and the service manager said he'd have it removed and boxed for me. They ended up just giving me the old leaf packs and u-bolts in their entirety.

Hmm.. I didn't think about writing down the part numbers. The AALs are the only thing I've changed with the pack though. No bump stops, no airbags, no ubolt flip kit or anything like that. So I think I should be okay.

Just got it back. I am very much nose high. It probably doesn't help that I'm not parked on level ground but there I definitely need to throw my AAL back in there. Leaf pack looks much more stout than my old 2+1. Also I no longer have my drive line vibe. I'm sure that'll change once I throw the AAL back in but it was nice for my 5 minutes drive home.

Went to Koons Toyota in Easton MD today for my scheduled appointment.
In and out within 2 hours, no questioned asked. The invoice showed 1288.00 billed under warranty. My truck sits a hair higher in the back now. No alignment issues that I can tell. Ride is close to the same maybe a hair firmer.

My drive line vibe disappeared as well, even once I put my AAL back in. :fingerscrossed:

Nice! my dealer didn't offer me a loaner but it only took them like 2 hours so I guess its not a big deal. I really wanted a 2016 4runner loaner though.. They problem is that I might've just skipped town with it :spy:

Yeah. I was hoping for something nicer. But oh well. I would of waited for it to be done, if I wouldn't of had to have my 4yo and 1yo with me. That would of been 2 hours of nightmare. So I asked for a loaner when I made my appointment. Patiently waiting at home for it to be done.
