Just took the truck to the dealer today for inspection and they said mine need to be changed....the service manager said the parts should be in "in a few days" then they would call and schedule the replacement. BTW, I live in East Central Florida.

Mine was pretty seamless, it took about 2 weeks for the springs to show after my truck was inspected. The dealer had the truck for a little more than a day. I hear it takes a few hours to do the swap but if I remember correctly there were about 6 other Tacos getting theirs done at the same time. My neighbor works in the parts department at the local dealership, he said that the dealership order twelve sets at a time in order to meet the demand.

The dealership I went to told me a couple of days before they got them. It's been a month. I called Toyota they told me most of the time they have the part but are waiting for the tools to install the springs to come in. Or they could just be in back order, but wouldn't Toyota have the remedy ready if they sent out the letters?

I took my 2007 in for inspection last week. It is safe to drive and they put my name on a list saying to expect a call in about 2 months. Just a SWAG, but I'd bet that some vehicles are in need of immediate service and are being taken care of 1st. Others, like mine are going to the bottom of the list.

Well sounds like you're gonna get new leaf packs. My new ones aren't much better than the old but new parts is new parts right

Took mine in. Was told I needed the replacements. Was told 1-2 weeks. I called on the third week and they are now saying it's a month to get the parts. The lady on the phone first told me the parts were in. Then she came back and said that they were not in for my particular truck. OH well, been waiting 20 months or so... I'm kind of getting used to it.

K I guess since mines a Base 2wd it isn't covered in the recall. According to the toyota recall procedure a base style 2wd has the same set of springs buy they are mounted below the axle and if they break they won't hit the gas tank.... :( I love the little truck , but honestly, my little 86 ford ranger was great. They just don't make them anymore...

Ranger was a great truck, a lot of former Ranger owners now own Tacoma, me included. It will be interesting to see how the new Ranger does, especially if Ford offers a small diesel version.

Just got my notice today, I hope my dealer has these ready to go on. I'm heading to Cali for vacation and getting my lift done while out there.
