I searched and couldn’t locate this recall being posted. If it has been posted already I apologize for the duplication.

I had mine replaced yesterday, took about 2 hours. Dealer called Monday took truck in Tuesday for inspection then replaced on Friday once they received the parts.

This is exactly my symptoms with my truck. Although I personally was not able to see the brake fluid leaking, this reads that DUE TO IMPROPER MANUFACTURING PROCESSES BY A PART SUPPLIER, A SEAL IN CERTAIN BRAKE MASTER CYLINDERS MAY BECOME DAMAGED OVER TIME AND LEAK BRAKE FLUID INTERNALLY. “THE BRAKE PEDAL COULD CHANGE, AND FRONT BRAKE PERFORMANCE COULD BE SUDDENLY REDUCED”. THIS COULD RESULT IN INCREASED VEHICLE STOPING DISTANCE AND MAY INCREASE THE RISK OF A CRASH!

This recall is for 18-19, but I definitely think Toyota needs to extend this out to 17s because this is exactly MY TRUCK! I first said something to my Cousin about my Brake Pedal feeling differently on December 29th. I chose not to drive my truck that much afterwards because it felt really weird and he was too busy at the moment to take a quick look for me. Therefore, I was patiently waiting until he had some time in his shop for me to bring it in and to let the holidays kind of settle down. Like I said, I only drove my truck a few times after that, one being this last Tuesday, January 8th, to work. On my way home my brakes went out and it scared the shit out of me. There was nothing left in my brake pedal at all and it went straight to the floor. I called my cousin and he came and towed it home for me until I could get in touch with Toyota. My cousin looked it over briefly and mentioned that it has to do with the Master Cylinder. I just dropped my truck off at Wilsonville Toyota so we will see!

    hi,
I just wanted to share with everyone that I took my truck in for the service at 5k miles and request for the tsb 0062-18 and got a call from dealer saying that there's a recall on the master brake cylinder. I will let you know how it is when i pick it up today.. this is for a 2018 DCLB TRD sport.

The master brake cylinder is a actual recall not a TSB. The recall was just issued a couple months ago and they are just starting to fix the trucks over the last few weeks.

Keep me posted I need to run mine in-- waiting on warmer weather-- but how long did it take? Is the work just under the hood? I have 60 miles on my truck (HA) so I'm a little reluctant to bring it in for this to be 100%- I haven't even driven it yet..)

If yours falls under the range, they will replace the master cyl and bleed the brakes, that's all there is to it. About an hour or two worth of work, depending on how competent the tech is.

They had to do this to my truck in NOV 18
Then they had a recall after they had my truck for over a week to see what was going on with it.

IIRC it is only for models other than OR and Pro

Just a heads up to anyone who is on the list.

I had the recall done a week ago, then a few days later the brake light came on with the Check Brake System warning. I got it towed to the closest dealership and it turns out, the brake lines weren't tightened enough which caused the brake fluid to slowly leak over the next week and triggered the warning lights.

I've talked to multiple dealerships in my area about this and they've all said that they have gotten Tacos back in for this same problem after the recall work is done due to the brake lines being difficult to tighten all the way.

I assume you’re referencing the brake line connections at the brake master cylinder itself? Just checking so I know exactly where to monitor after receiving the recall remedy... thanks for the heads up.

I had mine done two weeks ago and so far no leaks or issues.
