is this for the standard vacuum boosted master cylinder (assuming so) or the Electric boosted master cylinder found in the TRD OR 4x4 / TRD pro's

Only date I see within the door jam is 08/18. I can assume that's the build date.

That's your build date. Falls right in the recall window they put out.

So, the OR 4x4 and the Pro's have different assy?
This is an image from my 2018 DCSB OR 4X4. So far no notices of recall.

Got my recall notice in the mail today for 2018 Limited with MX build date 08/2018, purchased 10/2018. Called dealership and placed “parts on order”... was told will be fixed within the next few weeks.

Dammit man, got the letter. Was hoping my Texas built truck would slide under the radar.
I'll give them a couple months to get proficient, then schedule and hope my truck comes back in the same condition in which I drop it off..

So what do you do if your dealership says you’d VIN isn’t on the recall but youre having the braking issue and it’s a 2018 TRD Sport 4x4? Auto shop I brought it to is saying “master cylinder issue”. Had brought the Taco in for new BFG’s and 17” TRD Pro wheels to be installed and had the front brakes done. Tech said he felt the brake pedal shift down, I also felt it a week ago, but they are saying my VIN isn’t in the range. He’s gonna call Toyota today but I think I’d just rather call them. I don’t think they will let a second hand shop do the recall, I’d assume the dealer probably needs to do it.

For those of you who have this problem AND are NOT covered by the recall go to:
    www.nhtsa.gov/report-a-safety-problem#index

Fill out a complaint and submit it. This is the first step in getting Toyota to “eventually” fix it or possibly reimburse you in the future.
