Safety sense emblem question

If this question has been answered before, I apologize ahead of time. I've googled for the answer and couldn't find exactly what I need to know. I'm alot more familiar with 1st and 2nd gens.

My son's friend has a 2019 tacoma. He's wanting to put a 2017 chrome cheese grader grill in it. My question, will his safety sense emblem fit in the 2017 grill?

Would have to do modifications to it adding a sensor.

Even though the sensor actually mounts to the back of the emblem? Basically just swap the emblems from grill to grill. I guess if I had experience with the 3rd gen, I was understand it more.
