The rear end of my Tacoma sags some bit.
I was looking at buying new leaf springs but someone mentioned to me that I could just add air bags to compensate for the sagging.
    Would anyone recommend this route?

Too many to list, and I've probably forgotten a bunch.
I would. I did SAWs up front and a Wheeler's AAL on the ass end for my '14. Worked great, then I added the shell and some tools in back. Over time, it started to sag a bit.

No aftermarket spring pack seemed appealing, since I use the truck to haul wood, rock, concrete, etc and needed to keep the overload (I realize that's changed now and other options exist).

I installed a set of Firestone Ride-Rite airbags. I like that I can adjust them for offroad/onroad and haven't had any problems with articulation.

Initially I kept the stock TRD OR shocks in the rear, but 10,000 miles of rough use + lift killed the seals. I swapped in Bilsteins from Wheeler's and so far, so good.

You don't really need to factor in the price of a compressor with air bags. I use a bike pump to air mine up.

I've been very happy with my Firestone bags and Daystar cradles. I'm in the process of moving right now so I have around 1000 lbs in the bed and zero sag.
