I just got back from San Bernardino County sheriff's Deputy Jeremiah MacKay funeral service. I think just about every California Department was there showing their respects, very awesome to see 12-15 miles long precession of Cop cars. I was able to hold it together through all the Bag Pipes, and Taps, until Dispatch called his Call sign for a status check, when no answer they toned him out and then did a Roll call.
I Bid you God Speed Brother.

    10-23 for SBSO traffic:

    "14D2.....
    14D2.....
14D2, unit with Detective Mackay - all units stand by for tone-out. Code 33 this channel for final call. This is the last call for Detective Mackay, M6488 Badge 9. Detective Mackay was fatally shot on February 12, 2013 while answering a call for duty. Detective Mackay was serving this community with courage and valor. All units break for a moment of silence.

14D2, you are clear to go 10-7. End of Watch, God Speed Sir. Code 33 lifted, control clear."

God Speed. Prayers to his family, friends, and fellow officers. RIP

They had that at the funeral?

I had a hard time not getting teary eyed just reading it.

    RIP Deputy Mackay.

Prayers for his family, friends, and department.

Yes. Dispatch put that out to all units. Multiple agencies were patched in as well; so I was told. It gives me the chills just reading it. Very sad day for LE. For LEOs and others who understand the codes, it makes it even more heart breaking.

    RIP.

We had a Sheriff deputy killed serving a warrant a couple years ago. I'm not an LEO but watching the funeral on TV they did that same kind of final radio call and that really got to me as well.
