I liked the J35. Raced as crew a few times. And I liked the J36. I skippered one on the Newport to Ensenada race back in 89.

Fellow sailors... I’ve been watching Alan Mulholland circumnavigate the globe on Wave Rover a 26’ Contessa. He has a YouTube channel titled sailing wave rover and puts out a new video each Friday night. He left Prince Edward Island last July and has gone to the Azores, Canary Islands, and is now crossing the Atlantic to go to Panama. Interesting watch...

Nice work! You must have a nice crew, to go along with your driving skills. The one underway photo looks like light to moderate winds. Surprised the Olsons, and the Hobie didn't do better. Superior boat skills on your teams part, no doubt.

Thanks, man! My crew consisted of one regular on the bow, one guy I've only sailed against in the pit and my sailmaker trimming. The short courses favored us over the bigger boats for sure. But we nailed our starts, had clean mark roundings and got lucky a few times. We've spent 3 years developing the boat as well. Funnest bit of sailing I've done in a long time.

Nice. Having your sailmaker on board is a huge advantage. At least, it was for me when I had Kevin Miller, from North Sails, on board. He was amazing.

For sure. My sailmaker is also one of my best friends. We've been sailing together for almost 20 years. Joe Grieser at Ballard Sails in Seattle.

Don't see any crew on board. Did you put the chute up alone?

we were double handed, it’s blowing about 25tws when this was taken. We just gybed and I was forward at the mast gybing the pole.

over 20 tws we gybe the main with both of us in the cockpit. Then once things are settled I hand the sheets off to the driver and dash forward to take care of the pole.

Those Moore’s are cool boats. I love the transom job as well. Never see them in New England though.

thanks man. We cut out the transom in preparation for the 2016 Pac cup (sf to Hawaii). Makes the cockpit drain faster offshore, and looks cool.

2000lbs fully loaded for off shore? Holy hell. What displacement??

The wind consistency is pretty wild too. Rarely above 30 but rarely below 20...great time for a spinnaker haha

hahaha thats what my boat looks like after a day sail with some drunk friends, i cant imagine what the non stop roller coaster ride in that tiny cockpit felt like

    Congrats on the wild win!!
