    With the steering station you have, and it being a small boat, I tend to prefer to stand when driving. Better sight lines, and easier on my back when in chop.

    I might go with something like this, but maybe a tad larger, for two people.

    We trailer launch our Moore 24, we back it us to the ramp. Chalk the trailer tires, unhook it from the truck. Tie a 50 foot rope to the trailer and truck. Pick up the slack in the line, remove chalks and back it down the ramp. If we did not do it this was the roof of the truck would be under before we got the boat floating.

    We have a 4.5 foot draft on the Moore.

    One time we dropped the trailer off the end of the ramp. That was a lot of fun, had to dive down attach ropes to the trailer and winch it up to the boat.

    That sounds awful. We could probably get away with an extended tongue. I’d be afraid of the straps because our ramps are so steep. We have 12 foot average tides.

    it's actually super easy once the steps are down. My wife and I do this regularly just the 2 of us. Sometimes we're in the water faster than the ski boats!

    I just found this thread!

    I used to race dingys for many years, mostly in SoCal. I had a Laser here in Georgia, but sold it recently. It seems the wind does not blow on the lakes in the summer.

    I will say, my Tacoma makes a better regatta-mobile than any of the other trucks I had.

    Currently, the only boat I have is a kayak. That may change...

    I sailed out of Westlake Yacht Club, so quite a bit on the lake.

    As far north at Clear Lake and Huntington Lake, Santa Barbara, Lake Cachuma, Ventura, Marina Del Ray, San Pedro, Long Beach, Newport Beach and Mission Viejo.

    I have sailed/raced quite a few different classes - Cyclone, Coronado 15, Laser, Mercury, FJ, Club FJ, International 14, J 24, and some assorted "big" boats.

    Good times.

    Grew up on the water sailing around cape cod. My dad came from a big sailing family, his father was a boat builder.

    EA789157-9AD8-409A-A992-D526E8640C2C.jpg My grandfather built this seabird yawl in his parents backyard in ‘52 with hand tools and plans from a magazine. Dad grew up learning to sail on this boat in the Chesapeake bay. He did a keel up restoration around ‘97-‘01 to save it from a chainsaw. Lots of rotted wood from sitting so long in my aunts yard when he trailered it from Annapolis. Wish I had a then vs now... spending some time over the winter on the brightwork and paint. To launch her late spring

    Thanks! This is the original expo rig. It was designed specifically for solo ocean crossings which is cool. Have some camping trips along the coast I’d like to take with her.
