Yup. Warned you about it. @SR-71A had the same issue with his front skid from what he said and had to torch the hole open

 

I didn't have an issue with SOS, it's more of a generalized thought.

 

The other order coat is the one thing I wouldn’t waste my money on with SOS again. Whoever he has doing it does a poor prep job I a bunch of spots on my rear bumper it’s come off and rusting. Bumper materials and construction are perfect but the Pc sucks

 

They don’t want to deal with Tacoma world. I’m just a guy here sharing sales.
But the guy who was making the skids is no longer employed and there hasn’t been issues since that employment was terminated.

Go check out the shop. I definitely encourage that

if that’s your phrasing instead of theirs, you might want to rephrase that. If that’s their phrasing, they’ve basically just told a huge demographic that they just don’t want to deal....not a great message.


PS I have SOS sliders. They’re good, solid, and I had a good interaction with the SOS team in buying them. But given...all this now, uhhhhh I might rethink supporting them further. Shame. I actually like their workmanship from what I have.

I think anyone would have a problem if they paid money for an order, the order got messed up without resolution, and the response from an "ambassador" of the company said the solution would be to buy fixed ones to replace them on sale.

C'mon, man. You aren't doing this guy any favors with a response like that.

Other manufacturers have access holes that are a lot more elegant. I'd go that way first.

I know he had issues. Right now you sound like someone supporting the company, which is why putting up stuff like that makes it even worse - because people are going to think you are the voice of SOS.

honestly if the explanation is “that dude wasn’t doing what he should have been doing, he wasn’t following our instructions, he messed up product. We didn’t verify it and we sent bad product. It was a one off/one batch situation, and since then we got rid of the guy and are using machinists and welders who are proud of their work”. That’s fine. But own it. Because right now SOS sent Max bad stuff and isn’t rectifying that. They’re recognizing that they sent bad stuff. They’ve fixed the issue.

I work in aerospace and this is a simple root cause and corrective action. Step 2 is containment. You need to look at stock, WIP, and shipped. They’ve done stock and WIP likely, but have let shipped go and aren’t owning it.

a lot of good product comes from bad companies. That doesn’t mean I need to choose to support them in my skids purchase
