I heard that too, especially with the ecotemp heaters so I picked up the camp chef hoping it's more reliable.

@ProForce - having a look at the instructions.

    Small note:

On my '16 those are T30 bolts, not T27.

Ahh interesting. This is good to know. I have used a T27 Bit on all models that I have done installs on. Ill have to look into that and adjust as necessary. Thanks for the heads up!

yessir I got to take it out camping over the weekend and as soon as I finished setting up camp I had to test the shower first hand. I borrowed a shower tent since I don't have my own just yet... (thinking of ordering one like this: https://www.amazon.com/Ozark-Trail-Instant-Changing-Shelter/dp/B00KAFFSNO ) and the one I borrowed was a small room but I still kept the WH inside the tent with me so that I could control the water temp for the first trial run. I was careful not to let the shower head spray straight into the WH and all was fine. I took a long shower to get a thorough test in and used about 3 gallons of water. I could have easily gotten by with half of that, especially if I replace the crap shower head that comes with the WH with one that actually shuts off fully and doesn't leak.

It was fantastic to have a hot shower at camp. :yay:

I'll never have any extended trips or hunting camps without the shower setup. Hell, even using the heater for hot water on dishes was nice and kept our hands from freezing after the sun set. The only problem I'm running into with the setup is my coil hose has developed a good kink in it from my rough use and abuse of having pressurized water at hand all the time. I think I'll have to get a bit sturdier hose for future use but that's not a big deal. I've used the system A LOT now that I have it. Aside from dishes and the recent shower application I've sprayed out dirt and dust from the bed, put out fires, washed bugs off the windshield and critter blood off the tailgate, and even used it to wash out a deer I cleaned last weekend.

Wow!! sounds like you've really used this to the extreme. I am super happy that it has worked flawlessly for you with the exception of the hose. This vv Will solve the water line problem. as long as you stick with 1/4" line, dont make it too long (id stick with 25ft as shown) and make sure it has male connections on both ends, it will be a direct replacement for the coil hose and will make your shower setup a million times easier. Be sure to use plumbers tape on the threads when swapping it out. Itll be a bit harder to store in the pocket, but i think this is what you need

Sale is good through the end of the weekend. Just let me know :) I don't anticipate running out this year but you never know. Sales on something like this are usually slim to none until spring hits and camping season starts up again. I think ill sell out at that time. You can always keep an eye on the list in post #3. Once that hits 30 then there will only be 2 or 3 left.

@ProForce - does the water pump require ventilation? I will almost certainly not do the install the way you've demonstrated because I have some other wiring in the tail light cavity which will get in the way, so I'm thinking about alternative mounting locations, portable box, etc. Just occurred to me that ventilation may be important.

I believe specs call for about 1 foot of room. ill double check and let you know. keep in mind this is not a full duty pump and isn't meant to be used for excessive periods of time. given that, i havent seen it even get warm enough to need breathing room, but ill research for you to be sure
