Sale Price for My Tacoma?

Hey folks,
I’m considering selling my truck and would appreciate some help figuring out what to ask for it. I’m in northern Marin county, so I’d be selling around the Bay/north Bay Area.

I have a 2nd gen 2007 Tacoma Prerunner Access Cab (suicide doors) SR5 V6 4.0 with TRD Off-road (Bilsteins, locking rear diff), tow package, in bed inverter, with a matching snug-top shell with bed liner and Yakima rack. Stock, no lift. “Upgraded sound system” with multi-CD player, power seat etc.

Truck has under 72k miles, it’s in great shape, clean title. Almost brand new Michelin defenders on it (maybe 3k miles on them). Mechanically sound.

Cons: Air intake vibration noise, Little scuffs and some rear bumper rust, some fading clear coat on front fenders and on top of snug top.

KBB trade in is at $14-15k, private seller value is at $15-$17,600.

Recently I heard that used vehicles are selling right now for up to 45% over their value (?)..
I’m trying to find other trucks like mine to compare with, but with my low miles and it’s hard to compare. I feel like I could get more for it in the Bay Area of CA.

any advice on what I should ask for it, bottom dollar I should take?

 

Look at your market. Go on Craigslist, Facebook, autotrader and see what people are selling their trucks for. Faded paint kind of scares people away though.

Northern Marin county, I'd say at least $17k as it's got a good option list and it's a 2nd gen which as far as I know is actually increasing in value right now... because turd gen. Definitely get it listed in San Francisco, maybe as far south as San Jose. IMO
