Sale stalled due to recall

So I was close to a deal to buy a new 2019 Pro. We agreed to a price and extras only to be told the car had a stop sale on it due to a fuel pump recall. The salesman couldn’t provide many details as to when a fix would be available. Anyone here have any information regarding the recall.

 

It's a recall on the fuel pump. Toyota is "searching for a remedy" (i.e. replacement)

 

Is the fuel pump recall on all third gen Tacos or certain models only, if so, what models are affected? thank you,

 

Nothing has come in the mail for my truck.

 

I hope that you are getting a great deal.I would be pricing a 2020 model at this time.The market is dead right now and definitely a buyer's market.

You need to have the VIN to see if it's included.

I'd think they'd put it high on the work list so a sale could be concluded.

But maybe folks actually driving them already are more of a concern. Lawsuits and such.

 

Service department told me that it’s certain VINs that were built with a particular fuel pump that was manufactured from date x to date y.

I asked about it during my last service. I was told that Toyota does not have a fix yet and was offered a loaner to drive for an indefinite amount of time should I not feel safe in my truck.

I routinely drive above 70mph and have had no issue. Plus, I love my truck so I told them to go kick rocks.

Just got my notice Friday or Saturday. It took a long time from when it was announced, considering I knew it was coming since I’d already looked up the VIN.

 

It's a fairly extensive recall....effecting many models including several Lexus models. My wife's 2019 Corolla is part of it.

The impeller inside the pump can make contact with the housing causing anything from engine stumbling/hesitation to complete stalling.

 

Just got mine in the mail yesterday.

 

I got my letter yesterday for my 2018 pro. No remedy at this time. And I’m assuming there will be huge delays manufacturing, delivering, and ultimately replacing the faulty pumps.

 

I also got a letter for mine.

Just went and bought a new truck rather than wait for a fix.

 

My letter arrived yesterday as well. Went through the same thing with the rear diff recall on my 2016 - even though its on the list doesn't mean that it will fail tomorrow. If it does fail, its protected under warranty/reimbursement. No worries. I'll just keep driving it until I get the second letter telling me its time to bring it in.

I received mine several months ago but they don't have the remedy yet. Right now the truck has been in the garage for several weeks waiting out the storm. I work for a Utility so I have to drive their truck so no law enforcement issues.

 

Sales are also down because the sales dept in most dealerships closed until a certain date.
