I was running some audio cables last night and noticed what appears to be salt residue seeping into the cab from the underbody!

These both are taken from the drivers side. One is right at the base of the under seat ac vent, the other is near the wire loom on the side.
There is no salt crust on the carpet, just where it seems to be seeping past the underside

Once the weather gets warmer, I will be stripping all the inside of the truck, scrubbing, cleaning, and then lizard lining the whole floor pan, then under coating the bottom of the truck.

I do also plan to check with toyota next week about a warranty solution... maybe I can get them to undercoat the truck under warranty.

I have not checked more than just the area under the drivers seat, so it could be in more places

Depending on what kind of person you are, this may come off sounding strange, but have you tasted it?
Salt isn't the only white crusty shit in the universe. Just a thought, and good luck..

I have not, but, I only have 6k miles, and I got it before winter, so I've only had winter driving in MN.

What type of floor mats do you have? If it's salt and you don't have plastic floor liners, chances are it seeped through the carpet.

    Taste it.

I have the big rubber ones. I thought it might be that, but there is no salt on the carpet, none on the underside of the padding, and its localized to just those seems. I would think if it was coming from the carpet it would be in more than just that spot.

Also, I am very crazy about the carpets in my truck, I kick off my shoes every time, and I remove the floor mats every week to scrub and clean off.

Hey, think of it as an adventure and be sure to post pics of you licking the floor of your truck. Nobody would think that's strange...
