Same rearview mirror issues in the 2015 as the 2014's?

I don't have a Tacoma, but lots of mirrors!
    Hi All,

So...is Toyota putting the nicer Homelink or other electronic mirrors in the 2015's or are they doing the same as the 2014's and putting in the ol' plain Jane mirrors?

If anyone has a 2015 with the plain mirror, have you looked above your overhead console to see if the mirror pre-wiring is there?

    Thanks!

My '14 came with a Homelink / Compass mirror, but without temperature display. I think that's what all the fuss was about.

Yep my '14 too. I think they dropped the temp gauge to push the Entune models with the weather app.

Only problem is they don't offer Entune in Canada... so no temp at all for us.

Just traded my 2012 Tacoma with auto dim/homelink rear view mirror for a 2014 4Runner with a plain jane rear view mirror. I couldn't live without the auto dim rear view mirror so I had the stealership install one before I drove off the lot. I'm assuming you could do the same with a Tacoma.

    Things I need to tow.
The Homelink/auto-dim mirror was part of an option package on the '14 and I assume it still is for '15. Outside temperature reporting on the '14 is a function of the HD radio. I use it and the NAV on my '14 but don't use the Entune app.

My 14 was pre-wired. In my build thread I linked who I bought my auto-dim/homelink/compass mirror from. He's a user on here and he provides a piggyback harness. Whole install was plug and play within 10 minutes. His name is RJP869

I ordered my 15 TRD Sport last week. It is not listed in the build sheet. I called the dealership about it yesterday. They told me it was not an option in the 2015's. :(
It is an accessory that can be added though.

    Nice Setup!

Which dashcam is that? Haven't seen that one before.

2015 trd sport with a plain rear view. I have the entune with the weather app, but would much rather have a mirror with temp/compass displaying at all times. It's a pain to pull up the app all the time.

Bob: I have a 2015 AC Base 4x4 and it is prewired (14 pin connector in the overhead console).

In fact, I just installed the auto dimming mirror I purchased from you on eBay. Overall it was a 5 minute job to install. Every thing works.

    Thanks
    Pat
