When I stated on an earlier post that we should "let the voters decide", your response was (and I quote directly) "oh if it were only left to the voters on this site..." I am not entirely sure what that meant, but it seems to indicate a disdain for the majority voter opinion in favor of a small group (TW). The "gay community" (that's their direct term, not mine...curious how they see themselves a community apart....) in Calif is in fact whining and bitching and screaming about the stupid Calif voters.....shame on them. But they don't care, they are an exceptionally selfish "community" that cares not about the larger community of America.

i was talking about the fact that the voters on this site so far have voted FOR same sex marriage...by a slim vote none the less. but i do agree that they should respect the majority vote and shut up or move....ie same thing w/ the latest election. this poll could have made a better demonstration at least real vote wise by not having the 3rd topic. that wouldnt be on a ballot

meh, did everyone vote? I would suggest the third vote category be added to the "no" vote. The silent majority - even on TW - is larger than you think.

ur the one trying to claim people to your side that are not....if they were, they'd have voted NO. they are on neither side and therefore do not count in a real debate poll. there's no "maybe" on a ballot.

I am supremely confident that when put to voters in referendums, it will always be defeated. Not whacko leftist liberal legislatures. The PEOPLE should decide.

To the best of my knowledge, no state - other than Calif via the Prop 8 PEOPLE'S REFERENDUM VOTE - has approved of same-sex marriages. All of the states that have approved it thus far (4 or 5 I think) did it through their Legislatures or Supreme Courts - all Liberal leaning if not majority liberal. The "gay community" does NOT want the people to decide this. They DERIDE the intelligence of the voters and prefer to attack Legislators and Judges where they feel they can win. Please tell me of one state where when put to the voters, same-sex marriage was approved.

i can see in the south it not passing, unfortunately, but there are many more states that are progressive. the country has greatly changed over the past 50 years with respect to equal rights and the time will be here when its 50 state legal. i can gladly say that i'll be happier then

the 3rd vote is the same as the first. the indifference means they dont care, which means it SHOULD be a yes vote. do it over with yes and no and yes will win by a larger majority.

back to the states that have done it legislatively....some have had to do it that way b/c of dickhead govenors trying to ban it w/o a vote, ie Vermont. the other states have done it due to being unconstitutional. i bet u use that piece of paper when it fits your side of any debate. there are also many other states that provide same sex unions and i'm sure that over time those will be made to include the legal term "marriage" as well.

this isnt 1950's alabama anymore. the civil rights movement was proof that EVERY citizen of this great country deserves the rights of every other.

The "church" is conservative? I didn't know that. Stereotyping is assumption at its worst.

Read my prior posts....dozens of them......I support equal rights. For the last time, I will say it one more time......I support equal rights for gays, I do NOT support calling it "marriage". Call it Civil Unions, Same-Sex Unions, Butt Fucking Buddies, 4 Boobs to Midnight,.....but it is NOT marriage. Words matter. Calif voters were actually much more conservative than I would have been....I am more of a moderate conservative. Your post clearly shows your own disdain for any ruling not in favor, no matter how obtained. And yes, I respect constitutions.

So an Atheist marriage should be called something like "a non-god-fearing union" instead of a marriage?? lol :D

i respect the vote...i do not respect the veto by schwartzy or the gov of vermont taking it upon himself to try to ban it either and if these legislations are supposed to be carrying out the will of their constituents (sp) then why is it a bad thing that it be brought up AND passed in a states legislature?
words do matter. if its exactly the same thing as marriage, then it should be able to be called marriage. i do think that a lot of gay people have things up their asses, but its usually not their heads or sticks

lol....good call and from canada....might have to change my thoughts on them, except for themaster haha. i've been trying to get the point across that marriages exist outside of the church and therefore the religious BS shouldnt be brought to try to dignify the segregation of a group of our own citizens
