Anal sex does not create babies. Natural selection is based on the perpetuation of any particular species. Endorsing same sex marriage puts the imprimatur of legality and social support on the practice.

very true... but all i was trying to say was if protecting the sanctity of marriage is the real mission here... then protect it from everyone that abuses it... not just homosexuals in your opinion

How marriage itself is treated is left to a man and woman to work out.

Fair enough – my rebuttal is that as humans we don’t only have sex to procreate solely. For these reasons (and many others), we do not follow a natural selection any longer. We have ruled this out with conventional medicines and methods. I work at a children’s hospital and see every day I see patients who fight past what natural selection would have chosen for them. However, just as Christian/Catholic religions state, we keep other humans alive and happy and healthy for the love of our children and our species. If we were to go back to natural selection, most fo my patients would have been left in the woods. Back to the subject: choices gay people have made for themselves are not for any reason other than their a born traits; the same as that I have been born heterosexual and do not have any choice in what I am attracted to… I hope I’m phrasing this correctly – but we cannot tell someone that it isn’t their right to feel the way they do. I mean, who would want to choose something that causes this much pain and anguish in the society they live in? That’s exactly why it isn’t a choice they’ve made, but a born trait.. blah blah.. I’m done J

Ask visa or my wife. They both constantly remind me how much I've got left to spend.
First you need to define marriage which in this counrty is simply a legal agreement between two consenting adult. While I would have some difficulty if it were my child I don't see it being a problem.

I understand your points, well stated. I would not want homosexuals to feel bad. If they are comfortable with themselves, they should be satisfied with that. I just don't equate homosexuality with marriage. I have mentally handicapped relatives that were born that way - I do not necessarily endorse the law of nature as it relates to "survival" of the fittest in the sense that we should turn away from the humanity of caring for those that cannot care for themselves. But this is not the law of nature I was referring to. By the way, the homosexual trait has not in fact been proven to be present in all cases at birth.

I don't believe it's something they're born with. I can think of lots of people who make choices that are painful and cause great anguish in their lives but is pleasureable to them so they overlook society's condemnation to do what brings them pleasure: Child molestors, drug addicts, theives, murderers. Just because someone chooses something that's unpopular with society does not mean they're born that way.

I voted "Whatever, just stay away from me " because I really don't give a shit what people do as long as they're not harming others.

The only problem I have with it is that the defintion of marriage is "the social institution under which a man and woman establish their decision to live as husband and wife by legal commitments, religious ceremonies, etc.

That being said, how do you change the definition of a word? It's like redefining the word "organic" (which people have tried to do and it's BULLSHIT) or calling red blue and blue green. Just doesn't make sense. Stuff is what it is.

I think they're should be such thing as a legal partnership which would allow people the right to their partners insurance and the such. Just my opinion.

i think there are both.... some people find out rather young that they are homosexual and others make the choice when they know more about their sexuality

i never made a consious choice to be heterosexual... i don't think it is any different for many homosexuals

Eh, the reason I say we're born with our sexual preference is because I don’t believe I was trained to dig skinny brunettes with big boobies and long legs. THAT BEING SAID – lots of child molesters and drug addicts, IMO are born with genetic abnormalities that cause them to do what they do. Addictive personalities help and quirks in the brain cause them to do little kids. Never stating it is okay to do little kiddies, but I’m also saying from birth, they were genetically “pushed” to act in these manors. As much as I hate putting gay people in with groups that molests children and kill people; everyone is wired to act a certain way. You can train yourself to be awesome at math, but you can’t train yourself to be a math super wiz kid.. ya know what I mean..?

This gets somewhat to the point I was trying to make....life is not always fair, nor is it easy. A person has to have some type of discipline and order in his life to put him or her on a path that will lead them to a life of satisfaction, duty to others and add value to society. Unfortunately, too many of liberal values believe that anyone should be able to do what they want as long as it doesn't hurt or intrude on another. This is a very shallow argument and belies the necessity that we all need each other to survive....prosper and grow. The beauty and majesty of being human is within each of us.....we were created to re-create ourselves. The family, the pregnant woman.....they deserve a special place in our society.

Respectfully, you just can't hide in a hole and ignore human suffering, most of which doesn't harm others. We humans are so terribly flawed and need each other for help and assistance. I respect your statement, but it's the "easiest opinion in the world to make".
