    I do beleive that a person is born gay. I view growing up gay to be difficult because of the mental abuse one would take, so why on earth would someone choose that? Because they don't have a choice, it's in their genes.

    I don't agree with steve o77, it would sound something like this if I did, I grew up with a bunch of people that have blue eyes, now I choose to have blue eyes now, poof, now I have blue eyes.... nope. Now you could choose to buy blue contacts, but you still don't have blue eyes.

    Another reason why I disagree, if hetrosexual people started being around gay people you are going to turn gay..... ah no.... If you think that maybe you have some tendencies that your harboring. Because as far as I'm concerned, I don't care if I was surrounded by gay people everyday, I will always love the pu$$y, that is not going to change. Not that there is anything wrong being gay, it's just not in my genes.

    1a applies. Unfortunately, you are right. Someone is always looking to re-write the definition of anything they want to change.
    As I said before. Union, may just be palatable enough that it may be accepted. Once in the door, it surely will get changed.

    One other side affect to gay unions. It also opens the door to anyone taking advantage of a union to reap benefits that will eventually be afforded to the gay/lesbian communities.
    Next, everyone who lives together for any length of time, whether gay or straight will be asking for the same benefits. Why am I excluded? ---Were just friends but we live together so we should be able to have the same benefits as any domestic couple.....
    Just my thoughts... don't beat me up for thinking this... I actually do have some girl friends in a long term committed relationship.. I love em and try to understand where they are coming from...

    Once it's proven, I will agree. (If you have proof, I would love to see it)


    Eye color is physical/genetic, gayness is mental IMO. Again, once a "gay gene" is found, I will agree but for now we just can't say one way or another.

    Agree for an adult, but not a small child who has not defined thier own sexuality yet. Peer preasure can be a powerful thing in a child's life.

    For the record, I do think gays deserve every right straight couples have ie visiting rights in hospitals etc. Just call it something other than marriage.

    I don't have proof, but I beleive science points to some relevance between genes.


    I would go out on a limb and say, gay people probably feel different. I would think that sociatial pressure is to make us hetro, but some can't help to be gay, again pointing to a genetic link.

    I agree that peer pressure can be powerful in a childs or anyone's life. But I think adults go through a stage where they truely figure out who they are, gay or not. It might be that some that are peer pressured early on, thinking they are gay and act out it. But later on once they have had enough time of self discovery, feel that they indeed are not attacted to the same sex, and vice vesa for that matter, pressured into being straight only later on after marriage they feel no attaction to the opposite sex.

    I agree with you about rights completley. Honestly I don't care what they call it, union, marriage, etc.

    Well here's my take: as a hetero guy, I find male homosexuality downright repugnant. :puke:

    On the other hand, female homosexuality can be arousing, titillating, erotic and just plain sexy :drool: - if, of course, both women are attractive and feminine (no butches please :cool:).

    Why the difference? It's obvious - to hetero guys, women are merely sex objects. So, it follows that two sex objects are better than one - just more of a good thing! :p Anything two beautiful women want to do with each other behind closed doors is fine with me - as long as I get to watch! :D

    One of my best friends is gay, and he's known it since freshman year of high school. He feels that it's definitely something you're born with, not a choice, and he wasn't around other gay people.

    To me, I'm fine with gay people getting married, yeah it's new and people who are "old fashioned" aren't going to agree, but that's life right?
