IMO we do not truly have a country which believes in equality and separation of church and state.

And for the record, Frank referred to himself as a homo and he was a really good person that happened to be gay thus making him a really good gay person. Is there really something wrong with stating that or are you just being a bit sensitive? Stating he was gay was pertinent to what I was saying and I think you read to far into it.

I used poor judgement in using the word homo since you guys don't know me or my interactions with gays I've known in my life. The gay people I had become close with didn't so much to mind the use of the word homo and often threw the word around like nothing. That being said, I wouldn't call a homosexual a homo walking down the street so I understand what you mean. My lack of sensativity, my bad.

All I can say it that I'm not sure it is a "choice". I have a former work colleague that I became friends with that was gay. He was raised Catholic (went to Catholic school, etc.).

He told me one night over beers how hard he tried not to be gay. Years of counseling, went through an Exorcism and even had electric shock treatments to try and "get rid of it". This guy definitely didn't seem to choose it.

I agree with most of you that it's either OK or just do what you want as long as it doesn't affect my family. Most objections seems to be based on religious grounds. How many things have been objected to on religious grounds over the years that are now very acceptable as people's views "mature". Hell, we used to burn witches in this country for religious reasons!

Fine, move then. Good luck finding a better country to live in.

I agree with others that as long as it doesn't affect me than so be it. Moo. It is not government's job to decide what is and isn't morally correct for individuals, although you could argue on many other fronts in regard to this. Just my $.02.

Homosexuality is not mutually exclusive about sex, it's about companionship & who you feel comfortable with.

I know plenty of guys who "only" are attracted to overweight girls, slender girls, girls of different races, etc... It's about companionship not necessarily the physical relationship.

but it was just in the news a few weeks ago where the center that made people "ungay" through jesus refused to produce anything from the sessions and the co-director and other officers in the program found out that the guy that said he had done it was lying and making it all up. there is no way to "ungay" a person through any means. if people are really gay and not just experimenting for attention, cant find love in the opposite sex, or trying something new, then its who they are as a person and thats something that cant be changed. the people that are hardcore anti-gay seem to believe that gayness is some sort of airborne pathogen that will infect any god-fearing person that they come across

Ask visa or my wife. They both constantly remind me how much I've got left to spend.
If being gay wasn't something that was genetic and was a decision then why would anyone Choose to be gay? It makes no sense unless you want to be part of the most hated group in america second only to atheist. Why would anyone say "yes women are attractive, but I really want to be treated as a second class citizen and to piss off society, god and all of those uber alpha male who want to kick my arse for choosing men over women." I agree that there is a psychological element to this since a majority of gay people come from broken families but a lot of straight people come out of the same environments and seem to be fine.

and the fact that almost 100% of gay people came from mother/father families. there's a small number of gay people that come from being raised in a gay household. you are right though, a lot of at least lesbians have had traumatic things happen to them from their straight, pedophile, incestious, family members

Also, jhodgeit has been proven by sociologist that children with two parents are better off that single parent families. This means same sex parents that adopt have better off and more well rounded children that single parents of any religion. Check out the link :http://www.religioustolerance.org/hom_pare5.htm

I have no problem with gay people. It aint down my alley (immature pun) but I don't have an issue with a government licensed marriage.

However if the church wanted to marry gays, I would have more of an issue.

I do however have a problem with people who are flamboyantly gay. The example that comes to mind is this on kid Bobby in high school. He came out of the closet one night, and the next day in school had acquired an obnoxious lisp

I can see why woman find other woman attractive.

I don't have a clue what would attract a dude to a dude, or for that matter, why chicks like our hairy asses.

Regardless, just keep the $#!t behind closed doors so i don't have to watch.
