I forgot to add that I bought the shell six months before the tent and had not intentions of getting the tent at that time. So I wanted some kind of vent on the shell, similar to what @Crom did with his. I bought a solar powered fan and proceeded to drill a 5.75" hole in the roof. Works great, and the fan is reversible.

    20200705_090420.jpg

Of course after adding the tent, solar recharge was negated, but still acts as a non-powered vent.

Also, I've started carpeting the inside of the shell. I applied self-adhesive insulating foam padding before the carpet.

The sides and top are completed. The front and back will be a challenge around the windows.

How are you liking the alucab canopy? Thinking about ordering on for my 2020.

I like it very much. It's lightweight and very strong. The rails inside allow for all kinds of things. No leaks except for the front corners. I'll seal those up sometime.

Here's an example of the attachment rails being used.

Yeah I commented in the group buy thread. Although I'm a bit sceptical of how little the OP replies. How is the dust in your canopy? There's a review thread on TW and 2 people agreed the dust is bad unless you get the positive pressure hatch.

I don't know what the positive pressure hatch is, but regardless if you want to keep dust out, you'll need to seal the tailgate and other spots.

Glad I'm doing it. I found a very loose terminal lug on a positive feed today.

A bit better. All cables have sleeves now. Ctek charge controller secured with screws rather than double sided tape. Subwoofer amp secured to back wall with screws rather than sitting on the floor.

    20200720_180731.jpg

That's all the patience I have for that project.

I had to start over twice because of critical mistakes, but I really like it.

Had to rivet the elec panel. I didn't want to drill holes in the shell, but the double sided tape was starting to fail.

I also installed some King rear shocks a couple of weeks ago to further beef up the rear suspension. They are quite nice!

This morning I installed a center consol molle panel from Caliraised. It's realy nice, but I think it's designed more for 3rd gens at least as far as mounting goes. The forward top drill hole goes into the attachment point where the center consol latches onto the dash. So I used one of the other holes for attachment. Glad I felf behind there before drilling.

Hey man It looks like you're out in Vegas too! I moved out here for work a couple months ago and will be getting my truck sent up here hopefully pretty soon. I just wanted to reach out and see if youd like to run some trails around here when I get it!
