if you google the specs of a few tablets you should be able to get the dimensions. Then cut out carboard templates so you can see how they fit in the cab.
My tablet has a octo-core CPU and 3GB RAM. It runs really smooth, no lag or stutters.

 

I use an ipad for my day to day life... it's just a tough one in my brain for the use of the dedicated device. Love that HondoGarage mount!

 

I'm a dummy... just reread the OP... you want this puppy to LIVE in the truck... Yeah, anything "pro" wouldnt be cost efficient... Alpine makes a really really good head unit replacement with a crazy huge screen... apple and android play too.... something to think about.

 

Did you go to layers and download the tiles you wanted for the area? It doesn't work without downloading map data sets.
