I guess I have just heard that they were complicated and didn't work well with iMessage so I never really looked. In my line of work I need my personal phone to be quick and easy and just want to be able to interact quickly via group message with the wife and 6 kids. My work phone is also an iPhone. The family will probably never change from Apple but if the message function issue gets fixed I'd jump ship. Our house is full of all things Apple and they work great but to me the phones seem like they offer less for more. I mean, crap, how about some wireless charging? My last few iOS updates have been glitchy too.

You are correct sir. They're definitely releasing a Note 8 and there's lots of info/rumors floating around about tech for it.

Biggest change seems to be a dual camera offering a 3x optical zoom.

I picked up an iPhone 7 after the Note was pulled last year but I plan to switch back.

I was thinking about grabbing the Pixel because I'm using ProjectFi, and I like getting the pure android experience (and updates). But that damn thing doesn't have wireless charging and costs way more than previous nexus phones.

Side note: I want a badass phone with all the new tech that isn't a phablet.

I'm still using the same Note 3 since November 2013. I haven't upgraded because the newer Note's had the same screen size, and I want bigger.
The Galaxy S8+ was very tempting, but I'm holding out hoping that there will be a Note 8 with a bigger screen and dual cameras.

I just got the S8 today as well. It gets a charge on the wireless pad, but really slow. Similar to my older s6. Disappointing. Awesome phone though.

To me, the Qi wireless charging pad was good in theory, but was a technological let-down. They should have made it fast-charging if they were going to even bother. It just charges way too slow.
Instead, I bought a small quick-charger that plugs in the cigarette lighter socket and sits flush. I leave it in there. That way, when I need to charge my phone, I just pull the USB/micro chord out of the glove box and connect it. Waaay faster.

I feel that way about a few more important components of the truck but that's for a different thread...

As stated the charging pad isn't the fastest way to charge your phone. But if you only use it (like I do) to and from work, more or less to "maintain" your phone charge then it works perfect. Hard for me to believe it was designed to fully charge your phone from being dead.
As I charge my phone every night and toss my phone on the pad to and from work, I never have to worry about my phone dying on me. Just my thoughts on it. More of a maintaing charge pad with SLOWLY charging the phone. Compared to a wire or home charging method.

There's a cigarette lighter outlet under the armrest and there's a slot in the console for the cable to fit in... I think the console outlet is on even when the truck is off??
I use that and leave the cable dangle down beside the passenger seat and my charger same as yours low profile but is a 4.5A charger. Charges my phone full on in like 30 minutes.

Your setup is better than mine so I did the same (ain't no shame to my game!)
The hardest part was being able to grab the cable after fishing it through.
At least with my TRDOR, I found that the power to the cigarette lighter in the armrest is not powered when the truck is off (and that's fine with me).

    - What particular quick charger do you have? Sounds like it's faster than mine. (I have a Platinum Quick Charge 2.0).

Both my GF and myself got at&t s8 on Friday both of them overheat and stop charging within the first 15 min. Not sure if it's an issue with the phone or the qi charger. Waiting for more people to get them to find out.

Haven't had any problems with my S8 Plus and the QI charging pad. No issues with charging it on the wireless charging pad at home either.

That's the other issue we don't have a wireless charging pad other than the one in the truck to figure out if the truck or the phone is the issue.

I just bought the cheaper one that verizon sells. It was like $30. It works great. I've became a big fan of wireless charging over using cords and plugging my phone it. I have noticed that my phone does get warm using the one in the truck. But not hot. And my old phone always got warm as well. Sorry to hear about your issue. Hopefully you can get it sorted out.
