My wife and are finally moving back to Texas, and it happens to be the San Antonio area, specifically, Ft Sam Houston. I was wondering if ya'll could help me out by pointing out which neighborhoods are good and which to avoid. Also, coming from the DC area, traffic will be amazing there, but is it really a problem if we lived on the west side of the city?
Any other tips would be appreciated as well.

    Thanks, Frank.

Well depends on how long of a commute you wanna make. SE is bad but short drive. SW bad, NE has some good areas. NW good NC good

If you wanna live on west side it's not bad drive if you live near 1604 and 151 or 90 you would take IH10 all the way to the base and traffic flows on that highway about 20 min drive.

Thanks for the reply. We were looking at Universal City, Converse, and Shirtz area, but we found some houses on the SW side south of 90 and outside 1604. In the Alamo Canyon area.

I would go for schertz or Alamo canyon sub.

I've worked in all these areas for past 10 years and UC has some bad areas and some real bad areas. Same with converse some areas in converse we could not go to do work past 5pm.

Don't get me wrong all sides of town have there good and bad sides. Some more bad then good...There are a few good subdivisions in both those places.
Just make sure you look at the subdivisions before making final choice.
