Yep, that's the way to go. I think there is maybe one more option out there but when I looked into it this one was much easier. Even better, I found an off road shop on ebay that was selling the one I needed for way cheaper due to it being an open box (all complete). The best thing is, you can reprogram it as often as needed. Get bigger tires.. plug it in and re-set for the even larger ones. Going back down, same thing. Gears as well. Just be smarter than me, I intended to leave mine under the dash were I could access it easily if I ever made any changes.. and then totally forgot when I mounted it. So, if I ever change anything I will have to open the dash again to get back at it.. but it's maybe a 20-30 min job doing that. I went up to 35's and my speedo/odom are at stock specs as far as accuracy. At stock I was under by 1-2 mph and still am.

Thanks! I didn't consider tire size swapping again, I went one size bigger now but after I lift the truck I may go up another size. Seems like a simple enough install. Looks like they Hypertech's run $229.00, maybe there's a TW discount? I'll have to check, If others are interested maybe we could do a group buy? I found a youtube video for the install.

Yep, pretty easy install, slightly more involved for the 2nd gens. But still not bad at all. I paid 160 for mine on ebay w/ free shipping, and there was another place listing them for only a bit more. Group buy might get a few interested people. I checked ebay just now and they seem to all be listed for the 229 range like you mentioned, so you probably could save something with GB. I have to say the peace of mind and assurance of accuracy is worth it.. not to mention the ability to go up and down in tire size and set it as needed, along with gears. The program that comes with it is super easy for you set the new sizes too. I've driven nothing but lifted 4x4's since 1984 and there is something to be said for having an accurate speedo. Beats the guessing game for sure.
