Well you know it’s gonna be a long day when the contractor calls and complains about install schedule for Thursday, but yet it’s been out since last Wednesday

 

Hi all. Just picked up a 1994 pickup v6 3.0.

She’s running. No smoke. Idles great. Check engine is on and seems to have a lack of power. Any ideas ? Anyone have someone in San Antonio that knows these engines other than dealer.

Here it is. I thank those for the welcome but I was already here with my 17 limited(traded for 18 4Runner). Red here is going to be taking on my small truck duties.

 

There is a laundry list of things that can cause loss of power. First thing you need to do is pull the code. VatoZone, advanced auto, or another parts store ought to be able to do that for you. Some preliminary checks would be spark plugs n wires, distributor contact points, and any electrical connection associated with it. Also check that you're getting the proper fuel to the engine, pressure, flow, all injectors are working, pump is pumping, all your air sensors are clean. You may also have a vacuum issue, check out all your vacuum lines and be sure they are connected to the correct place and in good condition. Good luck, and let me know if you need anything.
