    Interesting.. What kind of problems were these causing you? Mine stutters and runs lean sometimes when approaching 3k rpms..

    Mine also doesn't throw codes, it's so damn weird, doesn't help me track down the problem.. Thanks man! me too, one of these days she'll be 100%

    ^this.

    Jeep people have been demanding a turbo diesel in wranglers for years, like since the mid 90's. Specifically a Cummins with an Allison transmission and Jeep still hasn't done it.

    So

    I'll believe it when I test drive it.

    Same here. Finally got rid of the wife's Xterra now I need to move her FRS. I want her to daily my XJ.

    :rofl::rofl::rofl:

    Damn. I'm really glad you didn't try to go through it!

    I cancelled everything today. Enjoying my day off

    Can't believe he's 7 already. It's a damn shame dogs lives are so short. He's the best I've ever known and I wish he'd live almost as long as I do.

    Just driving around town everything seemed fine, but when I would get out on the highway, it would start to stutter. Actually, it felt like the transmission was slipping. The RPM's would stay consistent, just a stutter. Had a mechanic friend of mine put the magic decoder on it and nothing. So, he had the thought of pulling the boots and sure enough, there was moisture in several of the plug wells. We dried it out and presto, the problem went away.... for a little while. It started again on a trip up to the ranch in Mullin, and right around Junction it started again. Had to turn around and limp home. So, I promptly ordered a new set of coils and plugs and replaced them all over a beer or two. Never had another problem with it after that. I want to say it ran me $300 or so, that was for Beck/Arnley coils, NGK Iridium plugs, and new NGK wires from Rock Auto.

    Ok gents, I have some news for our local 3rd Gen owners. Lots of talk on here about gear hunting at highway speeds and poor throttle response, especially off the line. I took her into Universal Toyota today for the 10K Mile checkup and bitched some more about this to my service advisor Kody Dean. Kody has heard it a million times of course, but told me a couple of software updates would address both. Sure enough, the tech did those ECU updates which I am sure are related to the T-SB-0062-18 that's being talked about on here. I can tell you that there is a significant improvement in throttle response and it seems on my short drive across San Antonio to be gear hunting a lot less and seemingly shifting a little crisper. Time well tell of course, and the OV Tune may still be in my future, but day zero seems promising. So, if you're in the San Antonio area and experiencing the shifting and throttle issues, it might be worth a visit to Universal to get this addressed. Kody gave me zero hassles about it, so he's probably a good person to ask for. I will update everyone in a week or so when I have had time to put some highway miles on it.

    Did this a few weeks ago at north park, as stated it is a noticeable difference. Hope it continues to improve.
