HaHa! Air shows are VERY common this time of year. Conroe, or SA alike. I know many Ham radio operators that jointly own and operate old aircraft for that reason. It's a thing. Round here it was Conroe, but in your area, probably somewhere else, but a show nonetheless. These guys are veterans that love what they did, and put on a show from time to time. I'd have to say "Don't worry, Be happy"...by the venerable Bobby McFerrin.

Dang TW putting all these responses back in time! I saw the photo @hoverlover posted to start with air craft on the ground, yes that is a show, which is on Fiesta Weekend in SA, but I didn't know about the airshow, which would explain the low level stuff. I'd have like to see that! When he banked that C5 on take off, we probably were less than a mile away.

Just gonna put this out there. Look closely at EVERY us military vehicle ever: tall and skinny. Look at tractors, which will pull anything with almost no horsepower: tall and skinny. Look at a train: metal on metal, tall and skinny. Look at every legit off road vehicle from any country other than the US: tall and skinny. If you look into the science, tall and skinny= friction, traction is a coefficient of traction, friction = traction.

    I'll never go back.

    So many red Toyotas!

If there's an air show, we know about it. He did the low pass for fun. Don't get me wrong though. I'm not bitching about it at all. I fly close enough to the Tower of the Americas I can read the menus because people love it. To quote Police 5 on San Antonio's tower freq, "that's something you don't see everyday". Having a C5 pass less than 500 feet below you directly over downtown is a once-in-a-lifetime thing. I wish I had my GoPro up for it.

We in America, specifically Texas... errthang bigger in Texas. In all seriousness, I don't really worry about the science behind tires... all I want is for a set of BFGoodrich KO2 (best tire out there), to look good with a nice lift that is ready to go crawl at the mall.

Sounds like that C5 Pass is something I would have like to have seen. Hell, I've been on tank trails while Shithooks have made amazing maneuvers amongst the trees and almost clip the tips of our shit.

As of this minute, I am on track to arrive at Jambo about 2230 on Thursday. If I get my rock lights installed, I'll try to join in on the night wheeling. If not, I'll find a spot to set up camp, see if I can find some familiar faces, and drink some beer.

That is great! Have a good time, and drink several late night beverages in my name. After last week, I was worried you would not have everything back together! Should have known better! We all spoke highly of you today , BTW! Hope to see you next - next SATX C&C! You can bless and laugh at my lift!

I'll bring a bottle of champagne and we can do a property christening!

I'd never laugh at it by the way, to each their own! And you've already done HF on a muddy day so you've earned your stripe :D
