There are a few versions if that movie. I watched the intouchables a long time ago. It was in a foreign language, but an excellent movie. Glad they have an English version. I may have to check it out.

As of last night I'd heard he had broken his back. They said if he was any higher up it would have been his spinal cord and he'd be paralyzed.

I just got an update: they're putting together a team of doctors and will do a surgery to repair the crushed vertebrae. They say he'll be walking again in a few days.

That. Is. Miraculous. This whole ordeal has been one miracle after another.

    1) he was right in my field so I was able to react immediately. Had he been in a field on his own he would have been down for several hours before anyone would have realized it because his phone was destroyed. Then it would have been a matter of finding him.

    2) he didn't fully clip the power line.

The guy from the power company said if he had, the wire would have remained live and fallen directly on the wreck. The field is normally flooded so that would not have done us any favors.

    3) the helicopter was recently retrofitted with bladder fuel tanks so there was no post-crash fire. Even though the tanks had ruptured, the bladders held the fuel.

    4) as I said, the fields are usually flooded. For some reason that particular bench didn't get filled and where he went down was only damp and not under water.

That's crazy scary. Guy better count his blessings cause sure sounds like he got away with something that could have been way more serious. Does sound painful what he's probably going through. Wish him a speedy recovery
