Ahh that was the tile guy when the house was being built, it worked in my favor as all workers for Tilson are contractors.....I got lots of extras for nothing out of him.

What project are you doing? I may be able to recommend a good carpenter. I’m a general contractor on the side and build 1-2 houses per year. If you have any questions, just PM me and I’ll do my best to answer them for you.

Sad thing is that there is very little recourse against someone like this other than firing him. Do you have a contract in place? If so, you could pursue a legal resolution, but most contractors don’t carry enough insurance (if any) and it’ll be like getting blood from a turnip.

A lot of these guys get a taste for money, have a couple of successful jobs, then they begin to over extend themselves and let quality slip. They are getting hounded to pay materials/labor costs and don’t know how to manage resources to appropriately allot for it. I’ve seen it so many times. Most of the time, they’re not bad people...just horrible businessmen and their business eventually bites the dust.

There’s more to being a contractor than driving around in a F250 and talking a good game, but that’s the image that a lot of them want to pursue.

Best of luck and I truly hope you get it straight.

You can see pics in my thread. I’ve gotten input from another carpenter on k bracing. Wife is going to call to tell them to deliver metal, undamaged, take your money, sign here, have a nice life.

Yup, seems that way. Sometimes need to come to work to get some me time , if only they allowed drinking, but they frown on that for some reason:notsure:
