good excuse to sit around and do much of nothing today, downside is the yard is going to need to be mowed next week.

Yeah, I always liked storms as a kid. But in 98 my wife and I lost almost everything we owned to flooding out in Del Rio. I don't think my wife will every live on anything flat again. If she had her way we would live on the top of a hill. lol

Yeah, I had to laugh to myself last night on the fire truck making runs I'd see lines at the gas stations. Pretty silly if you ask me. The only justification besides just needing gas is maybe the chance some ground tanks may get some water in them with some flooding. But that's pretty hit and miss.
Yep.. I just mowed the day before yesterday, but was too tired to weedeat. Guess it's gonna need some extra weedeating by the time I can get to it. I had to let it go for a week because my father in law injured his foot and me and my brother in law had to combine all his corn before the rains got here. Oh well, such is life.. it's not like I have HOA to worry about. ha ha

For real. I'm really bored at home right now. I see the coast got it pretty good though, so I feel for them- it's not fun. When I lived on the other side of the world I witnessed several Super Typhoons so I understand how it feels to be in the bad graces of nature.

I was ready though. Stocked up on food and booze. And had the Tacoma shoehorned into the garage in case I needed the power inverter (such a great feature).

Hope everyone else here gets through without incident.

#DayDrinking. When I was stationed overseas we had "Typhoon Parties" which usually turned out to be a complete shit show when the storm parked over you for 3 days and you ran out of supplies.

But that was a long time ago. Today was a good excuse to make a pot roast and reassemble my bed from the move and clean house.

I may end up having to water my grass after all this "rain" we're getting. I've had nothing more than drizzle and I'd be surprised if it equaled an inch total so far. I was hoping to at least get a good soaking out of it.

I keep figuring sooner or later it's gonna start coming down, but as it moves off to the northwest I think the chances go with it. I'd be happy with just a couple of inches. Now I'm wondering if that might be a tall order. It would help east texas get a break as well if it went this way more. But, it's a disaster ... so you just know it's not gonna cooperate lol.
