Had a Rockisland 10mm I sold a while back really liked it but ammo was to dang expensive.

 

I think that nickel plated m9 that taruas makes is cool

Customer came in with dtc P0236 turbocharger boost sensor high voltage, engine reduced power. Found a rat that made a nice meal with that sensor wiring harness.

 

Rock island is the best 1911 under $800. Rubber and Smith & Wesson make the best ones from $800-1200 (normally it's Springfield, but they were into some anti-consumer, small business and 2A stuff, so I'm boycotting them.) $1200-1800 is Dan Wesson, $1800-$2500 Les Baer and $2500 plus (factory/semi-custom not custom) is a tie between Wilson Combat, Nighthawk, STI/SVI and Ed Brown.

The Taurus PT92 is a good gun, but their finish and durability are still worse than the Beretta 92/M9 variants. I do like the frame safety on the Taurus, but you can get that on the rarer/more expensive Beretta 92/M9 variants.
