Well we were trying to go VA first. But we weren't approved because of my wife, she has horrible credit and Navy Federal wouldn't do it so they offered a conventional "Veteran's" loan that is similar to the VA with just 1% higher APR

I gotcha. My wife didn't have good enough credit either. Getting that all worked out was a pain... then the stupid IRS hit us up for 10 grand in April and we were set to close in May :annoyed: But, we got it all figured out and paid up. Owning your own home is so much better than renting! Best of luck, hope it all comes together for you!

They countered, we countered, waiting on word from realtor. He has probably already blown up my phone but I can't bring it in to the build at work.

That sounds like a terrible experience. And thank you, hoping it works myself, wife is already over the moon about the house.

If you pay off a VA home loan, you're eligible for another VA loan. You're not limited to just one in your lifetime.

Yeah I know that, I was just thinking from an investment standpoint down the road. Thinking of getting rental houses for continuous income as I gain more rank in the Army to finance the operation.

Smart move, that’s what I’d like to do. Flying is great but the pay isn’t what you think.

Yeah I've got a buddy who owns 4 different houses around Army bases and has paid off 3 of them so now its just a continuous revenue stream from those 3 and almost has the 4th paid off. Dude is just sitting on it all too, if it were me, it would go straight to mods :D with a little saved toward future repairs that always pop up

Awesome thanks! I will definitely need a hand. Not sure where I will be install them as I am at a rental at the moment and all of my tools are in storage. Was thinking of maybe doing it on base, unless someone maybe has a garage?

Weekends can be tricky with my work schedule but I think it's doable

Edit: I'll do my best to keep that day free and keep you updated as we get closer. We'll be doing holiday light tours starting Black Friday.

That said, if any of you want to book a holiday lights helicopter flight around San Antonio, let me know! They start Black Friday and will run through December and sometimes into early January. Flights kick off around dusk and we are currently offering a shorter 15 minute flight for around $100/passenger and a half hour flight around $270/passenger (we're still working on prices, so don't quote me just yet)

In Austin we're offering a 15 minute flight, a 25 minute flight, and a 45 minute flight - not sure on those prices yet.

The cost of fuel dictates our prices and fuel always goes up for us around the holidays, book early and save!
