Kurt I’m back on ome up front it had to be done but anyhow I will not be getting another setup up front. These probably have close to 100k on them and just starting to show their age performance wise. They don’t ride as comfy on the road but I have zero complaints about it.

 

For you and @LostHusker - the extra weight of bumper and winches? OME have the springs and shocks that handle that I guess?

 

Yep 886s with nitrochargers, along with Josh and Ryan

 

And just to make spending more fun, it appears that the icemaker had crapped.
I JUST was about to start a home warranty, and cancelled it due to a surprise medical bill. Dang it....

This, several people run with them Kurt. Its not a bad choice.


The only thing different about mine is that I have the soft riding struts versus the standard ones.

 

How’s that working for you I wondered about that.

 

I don't think I have the jarring hit that others do when going over a bump at slower speeds. It seems to be fairly smooth, I know it is not recommended but have had no issues to date.

 

That’s good to know I’ve complemented those shocks when I need it.

 

Ben has the same setup as me if I remember correctly, and he is happy with them. The only thing I am starting to wonder is that the 886's I have had 80K on them when I got them, more now, but thinking they are starting to give a little bit now. Have considered adding a spacer to top again to gain that little bit of height back with all the weight up front. I am currently waiting as since I changed rims my backspacing and width have changed and have not noticed the rub since...but again have not seen off-road for sometime.

 

That’s understandable mine have done the same when I reinstalled them I put on some 1/4in spacers.

 

Just got word the alternator on my sister's 06 4runner has taken a dump. I know what i'll be doing saturday now

 

That local or do you got to go to H-town?

I’ve read it once someone had a bit of sag but after years of prolonged hard abuse. I’m not to concerned with it currently.

 

Man, its a hairy situation. She's up in austin but she's gonna buy an extra battery and try to drive out to hunt so i can work on it. May end up having to go drive to wherever she is if she cant make it back on the new battery and gets stranded. What a pain.. i tried to tell her to do that when she got the car. Has 170k on it, but she didnt want to. Has her all stressed out now and spending more than needed

Still on OME with no plans to move to different suspension.

 

Same, hence the reason not installed yet...

I am hoping the timing belt on mine holds for a while longer, here that is quite the chore to install. If it goes to the dealer then its there for 2 days, if that happens, might as well replace water pump, flush the radiator, and maybe more as everything will be apart at that point. Not looking forward to that bill, need to look up u-tube and see if any one has done it and see what its all about, may ask you to come turn wrench with me on that one.
