I appreciate the offer, but you won't catch me on two wheels lol..

Yes i do have a place i could do it, but you raise some very good points.. I am gonna sleep on it. I'm not sure what to do just yet
Yeah I'm going to take advantage of the opportunity and upgrade everything while it's apart, even if it takes longer during the process. Still considering shipping it off to LCE in Arizona. I wonder how much it'd be to ship this thing way over there.

It’s not hard, more time taking the leafs out and back in then what it takes to add the leaf.

A little something every chance we get.
As long as you are going to sleep on it, consider I did my old 283 with Hot Rod (watch us take things from shop to shop!) and an aged Chiltons. I went to Kalamazoo's famous Lane Automotive (they are big now), and asked the guy what it took to clean and evaluate my junkyard block. They said bring back the block, with heads off, and crank out. They sent off the block and heads for cleaning, and evaluated the crank while they had it. I cleaned the stuff enough to make it transportable. Came back in a couple weeks, crank was fine, block was OK, but - the heads were a not surprising 10 to 20 off - so a little warped, not much. So, the heads should be done 30 over, which is pretty standard. If you are going to do that, normally they will recommend the block at least get honed to match - which is a great thing to do anyway. So, that was all the machining, and hard cleaning. The rest I did in a driveway, by hand. Affordable enough for a just out of High School roadie with pitiful income. I got the 30 over gasket sets, etc from the same shop. These kind of shops depend on putting the right parts in racers hands - they can't afford to fuck you over.

The pistons were good, they worked fine with the new rings. Think I bought a new water, oil, and fuel pump. The other parts I just picked up as I went. Honestly, it's not as bad as PULLING a motor and putting one back. Just more time consuming. But I slaved over each piece as I did it, and I know you would too. AND you have a running vehicle!

    So, sleep tight!

UCA, OME front (need spring compressor), I THINK the light duty Dakar over the AAL. Hard to decide. Don't want a bouncy butt!!
Things that I also should do are probably Cam bolts, don't think I need fancy bump stops with my use.

I thought there was the light and heavy? Do they call the light duty medium because light is too sissy for tough truck folks?
