    Morning gents:hattip:

Both Kids are officially off to school, so now what :notsure:

Well now I have more free time I guess, then again list of honey do's will start getting longer I'm sure

Guess I'll kick it off with a brand new cordless lawnmower
    20210816_101155.jpg

My 20 year old finally crapped out yesterday and I wasn't going to fight with it any more

I don't know what it is, it may be that they are looking for people that are just barely qualified so they don't have to pay them as much :notsure:, lower paying jobs are now having to pay more for minimal skilled jobs, so the people who are very well qualified, hard working pretty much get the shaft i guess, but who knows, just a thought

Best of luck to you though, hope you find something soon brother

So I have had the same issues, but come to find out if key words are not there employers will not even pull your resume. I have started the process to have someone else do it so I can send it out.

    Good looking mower!

I'm not even applying for skilled positions anymore, mostly retail at this point. Anything but food.
We'll see though, I'll get something eventually. My Wife has a solid job thankfully so as long as I can get something basic for now while I keep looking it'll help.

Hmm, I have heard that before. I thought I did a pretty good job writing it out but it sounds like it would be worth it to have somebody professional go over and edit it a bit better.

Aaaanndd the hits just keep coming, turned down for another rental house because, according to the agent, “the owner is from california and reads lots of bad stories in the newspaper about pit bulls”
    Schmuck.
He didn’t even look at the application, just saw a picture of the dog.
Looks like no more submitting pictures.

    Thank you
Just keeping on the search, no sense in lamenting over it.

We’re staying with my in-laws temporarily so not out on the street or anything. Boy it’s a just crazy market still.
We’re trying to avoid buying because we’ve been planning to move out of El Paso but, we may have to go that route. Rent it out ourselves later on when we do relocate maybe.

Where am I going to put all my tools Scott?

I did start looking at fifth wheels one day.
The tiny house is a better idea though. I could do it if I had a separate garage or something to park by. I just need a place to work on and build stuff.

5th wheel is throwing money away, Texas sun destroys them in El Paso.

This is also true here in SA. After losing out on several offers I decided to sign a contract for new construction.

I could have sold ya ours, lol still can if other houses come available.

We put in a few contingent offers, we're wanting to move another 30min South, our offers didn't go through because the sellers took non binding contracts.

I'm mainly just looking in west SA. I have a friend that just closed less than 2 weeks ago that was living around 1604 and 37 south of Braunig lake he ended up buying somewhere in Karnes County. Now it's a hour drive for him to get to work but he said him and the wife are happy so he doesn't mind the drive.

    Morning everybody!

I know, the cost wouldn’t be worth what you get with a big trailer like that. Even used.

I also agree that less house more garage/shop is better. We looked at a big house a while back that I just couldn’t imagine being in, we’d have to buy stuff to put in the rooms.

Finding a place to park a tiny house that has a garage or barn that I can also use is just about as hard as finding a house to rent
That is a pretty good option at this point though so I’ll keep looking to see what’s what.

We have also looked at that option. Although I think if we went down that road we would seriously consider just relocating now.

uuuff Karnes to SA, as they install more lights on 181 in a couple years, that drive gonna suck. We we're wanting something in Poth, Hobson or Floresville. We're about 5 miles South of Calvareas now. May have to just stay put here for a few more years until the boys are out of HS and off to where ever.

Buy a unrestricted lot with access to utilities, move/build tiny house then concrete, build a bolt up diy shop/garage. Lot of work, lot of savings, but just a thought.
