Thanks, Alex!! After I got the rest of the engine stuff back on, I ran it parked 10 minutes with full heat, than switched to full AC for 10 more. My head unit gauge topped at 194, with the dash needle just about where it always sits.

After about 5 minutes, a little knock started, but just turned into Tacoma tick after a minute, and never changed from what it always sounds like.

Fasten the skid plate back, and it's going to the car wash! (I saved the thrill of the skid until last, in case I cant get up!)

 

That high pressure oil pump always sounded like a sewing machine to me.

Aaaaaannnnnd, Good Afternoon SA! I successfully made my trip to Pflugerville & Cedar Park and back with no issue - I was on high paranoia noise and gauge alert all the way there - I did much better coming home, and even stopped at the store. I left late because my Sciatica, and didn't wander near as much before I ran out of steam. There were some 30's rods that were just too many rows away, and it's not that big of a place. Still, enjoyed the non-issue trip, and some donuts too. Here's some pics for your enjoyment.
