    I used one when I changed out Mitch's Kings from 600# to 700#, that was sketch. He looked at me and was like, is this gonna work? Fuckin things were bending.

    You don't want to compress a spring that is made to support an entire vehicle with a little piece of metal that may/ may not be strong enough to hold it, then put your soft meat hooks around the spring steel bomb and hope for the best?

    If they're coil overs like the Bilstein's or OME, I just use a jack and the lower control arm to compress the spring. If it's coil overs like Kings, Icon, Fox, or ADS, I have the wall mount I use. Those parts store compressors are murderers.

    I saw a video for doing it on the truck and figured if I had to go that route I would do that, seemed pretty straight forward.

    It is. I do it all the time. Just remember, if the jack isn't square with the truck, start over. Get it squared up.

    Nothing fortunately but strut springs are different than coils on an old Chevy . Just keep ends pointed in open safe direction

    I've gone back and forth. My initial thought was that it would be better to do with a floor jack and lower the truck into place. But then everything I saw on YouTube seemed like the compressors were there way to go and you'd be stupid to try and go another route. :notsure:

    Those parts store spring compressors are probably the most dangerous tool out there.

    Upgraded to the TRD 17" rims and added weld on rock sliders with Bed coat material, Billsteins in the front set at 1.75, tinted windows.
    I used 2 jacks the large one for the truck and the smaller one to lower the wheel after I unbolted the control arms. Also Jack stands,had the whole front end in the air and dropped the wheel far enough down to remove the springs.........it was really easy and safe.It was when I added the adjustable Bilsteins. Just my 2 cents. I only needed help when I put in the shock and the spring, just didn't have enough hands.

    LOL,Yea I guess it did, It only took about 2 hours, but now that Ive done it once you could have it done in about an hour.
