HA! Finally found another use for some of that rescue stuff I carry around for little reason. First time I used my splitter, I discovered it can be a fairly good log launcher - aiming is quite random though. Today, I wanted to know if I can break it down further for kindling. But what might I have to stop flying wood?

Just enough weight to keep things in place! It's even color matched!

Hey guys. I’m in a rock and a hard place.

Got my 1993 Toyota Estima (2.2l turbo diesel) running again after being out of town and spending weeks finding somebody to work on it and change the fuel filter. It ran fine for about 50 miles, then it sputtered, lost power, and stalled on me. Managed to make it home.

I’m really screwed. I drive for a living and now I can’t drive my vehicle. Spent the last of my money getting it “fixed” and now it’s out of commission again. I’m pretty sure I’ve narrowed it down to a fuel/fuel system issue since changing the fuel filter got it running again, but I really don’t have the mechanical knowledge to start taking the fuel system apart on my own.

I spent all of my money going to Washington for a month to help my parents out, then spent the last of it getting the fuel filter replaced. Now I can’t return to work and I’m really screwed.

Is there anybody here that would be willing to help me fix my van?

this photo was taken literally a day after it was “fixed” and a couple hours before it broke down again. Shit is soooo aggravating…

can't like. But I'd start here until you find the MOST common thing you have in common.

I don't know any diesel mechanics, but maybe @Ozzylara805 does. Think his dad is in the bizness.

You most likely have air in the fuel system. Gotta get the air out.

Turns out the mobile mechanic didn’t prime the system after installing the new filter!
But would air in the fuel cause black smoke with the loss of power/sputter? If so I might actually be able to fix the issue myself…

I’ve spent the last few days using google translate on foreign forums trying to find the issue. I think it might be air in the fuel lines. I talked to the mechanic and he didn’t prime the system using the plunger on the fuel filter cap. Gotta wait til my apartments employees/manager are off site (we aren’t even allowed to change our batteries on the property) but I’m going to attempt to prime it and drive the estima around my neighborhood to see if that solves the issue.

Yes. I would ask for some money back since he did the job wrong it's not hard.

@Spencerk you might have to crack the line going to a fuel injector while it's running to get the air out of the system. This is how i've bled fuel systems on a 5.9 cummins and Ford diesel tractor in the past.

Most likely yes. You can try the plunger and sometimes that's good enough but cracking the injector will eliminate doubt that fuel is get to the injectors. That's all you really need.

Already have plenty of wood split, to keep the wifey enjoying the fireplace! Just fixing to head outside, get the gas grill reset, and the yard trimmed up before the damp and cold comes. Can't really say it needs mowing, but that's what I'm gonna do!

Sounds good to me. Might be the last time you have to clean up the yard this year. Mine is all but dead from the lack of rain. Hoping we get some showers saturday

I'll do it again before Christmas, so it looks cared for. Surprised that I needed to empty the bag twice out front - longer than I thought. Still green from judicious, restricted watering through the summer!
