Good Morning SA! Hey, no rain! Haircut and erranding....

Was going to have a couple cool pics last week, but my phone went into ultra dark mode, and I didn't know what happened.
Doing an in town errand, the little car lot on 183 and 142 - which occasionally features some nice old cars or two - had a 60's C10, a 32 Ford, a 35 Ford, and a late 40's Ford war baby all lined up on the corner. Wow, I will snap that when I come back in the right direction. But, no camera when I get back. City reports the next day on FB social, that a car on 183 hit the Short Bus turning on 142 (car at fault), and the accident went into the car lot! When I went by the next day - no cars at all, and the garage door on the building was smashed. It must have been a huge hit. No one hurt, no word on those cars.

Then, heading to SM, there a little Bell copter in a field with a mess of trucks, and I can't read whose trucks they are. I thought of you @hoverlover , because that field is an intersection of huge power towers. Not a great place for a bird. So, on the way home, and NO camera, I see the trucks, not the copter. Because it is "parked" absolutely still next to the top of one of the towers. Holy crap! That would have been a great pic!

 

Not working due to the rain… so my wife and I decided to replace the carpet in our sons room so here we are!

Hope you all had a great Thanksgiving. Hoping this rain is done after today, been going on to long now.

 

Happy Black Friday SA! I won't be going out there! Got Horns to watch, and a tree to put up.

Well, looks like I won't be brining the next turkey, like I was thinking about! Wife doesn't want it anymore tender that we got yesterday. George (Hamilton - they are all named George Hamilton) looks spray tanned compared to our normal dark brown. I didn't realize I could actually make a middle rack with the half shelves - but I did, and that's where it sat. The probes were never satisfied for temp, and it the pop up didn't, but I went longer on time/weight. Wife just now said it was beautiful and delicious! So, I'll just go longer, and see if I'm inserting probes "wrong".

 

Good morning everyone. That is a beautiful bird @Oldie2007 ! I was having issues with the metered probes yesterday as well. I used my instant read to validate everything. I focused on the breast getting 165° but the legs, although were delicious, were a bit dryer than I preferred. I cooked at 300° for the majority of the time basting hourly. Then noticed it was not crisping up like I wanted so I pulled it from the pan and went to 375°. After about an hour, it was just as I like it.

Good Morning SA! The rain is over! After promising stormy rain all Thursday and Friday, we were finally entitled to 1.53" of rumbly rain overnight. Even had the fastest Severe Storm Warning I have ever seen - lasted 15 minutes! By the time I got done making coffee for the morning, I got radar on the phone, and it was all passed up. Stayed on 35 anyway. The sun is out, and it will be a beautiful 60*! Going to finish the tree (uncooperative lights yesterday), watch the rest of the season ending rivalry games, and make burgers. Outdoor lights tomorrow.
